Mustavalkoinen makuuhuone

(FI) Vaikka ensimmäisiä syksyn merkkejä on jo ajoittain havaittavissa, en ole ihan vielä valmis päästämään kesästä irti. Niinpä makuuhuonekin saa olla vaalean raikas ja tummat sävyt ja paksut ja lämpimät materiaalit saavat vielä odottaa. 

Päiväpeittona on nyt valkoinen pellavalakana, ja sopivasti kontrastia antaa H&M Homesta löytynyt puuvillainen torkkupeitto, joka on materiaaliltaan puhdasta puuvillaa. Peiton väri on tumman grafiitinharmaa, ei siis ihan musta, ja toimii puhtaan valkoisen rinnalla minusta pikimustaa paremmin.

Näitä kuvia katsoessani huomasin, että ison maton voisi oikeastaan siirtää vähän pidemmälle sängyn alle, niin saisi aamulla laskea jalat pehmeälle alustalle. Täytyypä kokeilla sitäkin muutosta viimeistään siinä vaiheessa, kun paljaita varpaita alkaa palella siihen malliin, että on pakko antaa vuodenajan vaihtumiselle periksi!

(IT) Anche se i primi segni di autunno sono già visibili, non sono ancora pronta a lasciar andare il periodo estivo. Perciò anche la camera da letto può  essere bianca e luminosa e le sfumature più intense e i materiali più caldi potranno aspettare.

Come copriletto sto usando un lenzuolo matrimoniale in lino bianco e una coperta in puro cotone trovata da H&M Home ci da un po' di contrasto come ci vuole. Il colore della coperta è grigio grafite, non è quindi completamente nera, e secondo me funziona meglio abbinato al bianco puro. 

Guardando queste foto mi sono accorta che il tappeto potrebbe in realtà essere spostata un po' di più sotto il letto in modo che la mattina si possano appoggiare i piedi su qualcosa di morbido. Dovrò provare di fare questo cambiamento, almeno quando i piedi nudi cominciano a sentire freddo e non si può più negare il cambio di stagione.

(EN) Even though you can already notice the first signs of autumn, I'm not ready to let go of the summer. So the bedroom can be light and bright and darker shades and warmer materials can still wait.

I'm now using a white linen sheet as a bedspread and a cotton throw I found at H&M Home gives it the contrast it needs. The throw is actually graphite grey, not completely black, and I think it goes much better with pure white.

Looking at these pictures I notice that I could move the rug a bit more under the bed so that you can put your feet on something soft in the morning. I really must try to do this change, at the latest when the toes start to feel cold and you can no longer deny that the season has changed.

Lepoa ja herkuttelua

(FI) Hei taas! Kulunut viikko meni tältä bloggaajalta pitkälti sohvalla ja näiden kuvien ympäristössä maaten, kuvitelkaa vain yöpöydälle nenäliinapaketti ja särkylääkettä - kuppi kuumaa juotavaa kuvissa jo onkin. Tänään ei ole enää onneksi pärskittänyt, joten eiköhän tylsä tauti ala olla selätetty. Jaksoin myös  leipoa aamupäivällä Runebergin torttuja, joten sunnuntailounaan jälkiruoalla herkuteltiin päivän teeman mukaisesti. Seuraavassa postauksessa esittelen joukon upeita sohvapöytiä, joten pysykäähän linjoilla. Mukavaa sunnuntai-iltaa!

(IT) Ciao a tutti! Ho passato questa settimana tra il divano e il letto, immaginate solo un pacco di fazzoletti e medicine sul comodino, visto che una tazza di bibita calda c'è di già. Oggi non ho più starnutito tutto il tempo quindi sembra che la malattia stia passando. Ce l'ho anche fatta a preparare i dolci tradizioni del giorno del poeta nazionale finlandese Runeberg, quindi abbiamo mangiato questi dolcetti come dessert del pranzo della domenica. Nel prossimo post vi mostrerò alcuni bellissimi tavolini, da non perdere! Buona serata!

(EN) Hi there! I have spent this week mostly on the couch and in the bed, just imagine a package of handkerchiefs and some medicine on the nightstand, a cup of something warm you already have in the pictures. Today I haven't been sneezing the whole time anymore so it looks like the flu will be over soon. I also had the energy to bake the traditional pastries for Finnish national poet Runeberg's Day so we had the for dessert on the Sunday lunch. In the next post I will show you some beautiful coffee tables so stay tuned. Have a nice evening!

(FI) Hei taas! Kerroin jo aiemmin, että meidän tytöt hankkivat tänä vuonna toistensa joulukalentereihin tulevat pikku yllätykset. Esikoisen kalenteri muodostuu perinteisistä paperipusseista, joiden päällä on liitutaulutarraan kirjoitetut numerot, mutta kuopuksella on tänä vuonna ihan uudenlainen kalenteri. Balmuirin tyynyliinojen pakkauspussi on ovenkahvaan ripustettuna juuri sopivan kokoinen joulukalenteripussukka, johon "tonttu" sujauttaa iltaisin pienen yllätyksen. Yllätys voi olla esimerkiksi hiuslenkkejä tai pinnejä, pieni herkku tai uusi kynsilakka. Tyynyliinat taas löytyvät meidän makuuhuoneestamme, missä petaus koostuu tuttuun tapaan eri valmistajien eri sävyisistä pellavista. Muurrettujen sävyjen yhdistelmä on minusta todella rauhoittava.

(IT) Ciao! Ho già menzionato qui che quest'anno le nostre figlie si occupano delle piccole sorprese che la sorella trova nel suo calendario dell'avvento. Il calendario della primogenita consiste in tradizionali sacchetti di carta con i numeri dei giorni scritti sulle etichette lavagna. La secondogenita invece ha un calendario tutto nuovo quest'anno.  Il sacchetto in lino in cui si vendono le federe del marchio finlandese Balmuir, infilato nella maniglia della porta, è perfetto per le piccole sorprese che "l'aiutate di Babbo Natale" ci infila ogni sera. La sorpresa può essere per esempio un elastico per i capelli, un dolcetto oppure uno smalto per unghie nuovo. Le federe si trovano nella nostra camera da letto. Come al solito, ho fatto il letto usando biancheria letto in lino di vari produttori e tutti in vari colori. L'effetto mi sembra molto calmante.

(EN) Hello again! I already mentioned here that our girls are taking care of their Advent Calendar surprises. Our older daughter's calendar is made of traditional paper bags with the number of the day written on a chalkboard sticker. Our younger daughter instead has a new kind of calendar this year. The small linen bag in which the Finnish Balmuir pillowcases are sold is perfect for the small surprises that the "Christmas elf" puts in every evening. The surprise can be for instance a hair band, something sweet or a new nail varnish. The pillowcases are used in our bedroom wherem as usual, I have made the bed using linen sheets by various labels in different colours. I find this kind of a colour combination really calming.

Makuuhuoneen kolme tyyliä

(FI) Minusta on aina hauska nähdä esimerkkejä siitä, miten pienillä jutuilla sama tila tai samat kalusteet voivat muuttua eri näköisiksi ja tyylisiksi. Meidän makuuhuoneen sisustuksessa ei yleensä tapahdu juuri lainkaan muutoksia, ainoastaan oma yöpöytäni vaihtui vähän aikaa sitten käytännöllisempään. Nyt toteutin kuitenkin Shuj:n Bedcare-kokoelman tekstiilien upeiden värisävyjen innoittamana kolme vähän erilaista tyyliä makuuhuoneeseen. Yhdistin värikkäät tyynyliinat meiltä ennestään löytyviin valkoisiin pellava- ja puuvillasatiinilakanoihin, joiden rinnalla murretut värit nousevat hienosti esille. Ensimmäisessä stailauksessa on mukana myös Shuj:n ihanan pehmeä beige silkkinen torkkupeite. Onko sinun makuusi eniten vintage-henkinen stailaus ruskean sävyissä, moderni stailaus utuisine sinisen sävyineen vai naisellinen ja hempeä puuterinen sävymaailma?

(IT) A me piace sempre vedere esempi su come gli spazi e i mobili cambiano stile quando si fanno piccole variazioni nell'insieme. La nostra camera da letto è rimasta quasi uguale negli ultimi tempi, ho solo cambiato il mio comodino un po' di tempo fa. Ora invece, ispirata dai bellissimi colori della collezione Bedcare di Shuj, ho realizzato nella camera da letto tre stili diversi. Per esaltare le federe colorate, ho usato come base lenzuola bianche in lino e in raso di cotone che avevamo già a casa. Nel primo styling c'è anche una morbidissima coperta in seta beige di Shuj. Qual'è lo styling che ti piace di più: quello un po' stile vintage nelle sfumature del marrone, lo styling moderno con sfumature del blu oppure i colori femminili e delicati del terzo stile?

(EN) I always enjoy seeing examples on how you can change the style of a space or furniture by doing small changes to the interior. We haven't done many changes in our bedroom lately, except for my new nightstand. Anyhow, inspired by the beautiful colours of the Shuj Bedcare collection, I now created three different styles to the room. In order to accentuate the colourful pillowcases, I combined them with white linen and cotton sateen sheets we already had. In the first styling there's also a wonderful and soft beige Shuj silk throw. Which of the three styles do you prefer: the vintage influenced styling in shades of brown, the modern styling in soft blue tones or the feminine styling with delicate powder pink accents?

Uusi yöpöytä

(FI) Flunssapotilaana sängyssä makoillessani tulin siihen tulokseen, että entisellä yöpöydälläni eli Kartellin Componibilin päällä oli ihan liian vähän laskutilaa. Kun vielä kurkistin Componibilin lokeroihin, huomasin, että ne olivat käytännössä tyhjät, joten pelkkä pöytäratkaisu olisi ihan riittävä. Tuumasta toimeen, Componibili muutti pari kerrosta alaspäin kylpyhuoneen säilytysratkaisuksi ja uusi yöpöytäni on Aino Aallon vuonna 1932 suunnittelema Artekin sivupöytä 606. Pidin kovasti tästä pöydästä vanhana kromijalkaisena versiona, mutta onhan tuo nykyinen kokomusta todella tyylikäs ja graafinen. Pöydän jalkarakenteessa oleva aukko on lisäksi kuin tehty lukuvalona toimivan valaisimen jalkaa varten. Arvatkaa muuten mitä... Nyt miehen yöpöytä näyttää ihan nuhjuiselta ja kaipaa puolestaan raikastusta. Lähtiköhän tästä taas ketjureaktio käyntiin? :)

(IT) Quando ero malata di raffreddore mi sono accorta che il ripiano del mio vecchio comodino, cioè del Componibili di Kartell era veramente troppo piccolo. Quando ho guardato dentro gli sportelli, erano praticamente vuoti quindi ho capito che un tavolino avrebbe potuto funzionare ugualmente bene. Detto fatto, il Componibili è stato spostato nel bagno del piano di sotto e io ho un nuovo comodino, il tavolino 606 di Artek, design Aino Aalto del 1932. Mi piaceva molto la versione vecchia del tavolino che aveva la struttura cromata ma devo dire che anche questa completamente nera è molto elegante e grafica. Inoltre la parte aperta della struttura del tavolino sembra essere fatta per la base della mia lampada da lettura. Ma, sapete una cosa... Ora il comodino di mio marito sembra proprio datato e consumato e bisognerebbe rinfrescarlo in qualche modo. Non è che ho fatto partire una reazione a catena? :)

(EN) When I stayed in bed with a flu I noticed that the table top of my old nightstand, a Compobili by Kartell, was really too small to be practical. I checked what I had inside the cupboard and it was practically empty so I actually didn't need all the storage space. So, no sooner said than done, the Componibili is now in the downstairs bathroom and I have a new nightstand, Side Table 606 by Artek, designed by Aino Aalto in 1932. I really liked the old version of this table with a chrome base but I must admit that also this all black version is really elegant and graphic. Plus the open part of the structure of the table seems to be made for the base of my reading light. But you know what... Now my husband's nightstand looks really worn-out and boring and something should be done to freshen it up. Have I perhaps caused a chain reaction? :)

Makuuhuonekierros

(FI) Otin aurinkoisena talvipäivänä muutaman kuvan meidän makuuhuoneesta, joka on valoisuutensa takia lempihuoneitani tässä talossa. Sisustukseen ei tullut viime aikoina sen ihmeempiä muutoksia, ainoastaan tyynyjen väri vaihtelee lakananvaihtopäivän mielialan mukaan. Nyt kaipasin selkeää ja rauhallista tunnelmaa, joten valitsin valkoiset tyynyliinat joka tyynyyn. Yöpöydälle ostin ennen joulua käsivoidetta pumppupullossa, ja se on ollut tosi kätevä ratkaisu tällaiselle talvikaudella kuivista käsistä kärsivälle, jolta rasvaus helposti unohtuu. Herätyskellon vieressä seisova kaunis pullo on huomattavasti vaikeampi ohittaa kuin yöpöydän kätköissä piilossa oleva purkki.

(IT) Ho fatto alcune foto della nostra camera da letto in una giornata invernale di sole. Questa stanza è tra le mie preferite in questa casa perché è molto luminosa. Non ho fatto tanti cambiamenti all'arredamento di recente, cambio solo il colore delle federe per variare un po'. Ora volevo una sensazione di calma e ho scelto bianco per tutte le federe. Prima di natale ho comprato una bottiglia di crema per le mani che tengo sul comodino. È molto pratica per una persona come me che ha le mani secche specialmente d'inverno ma che non si ricorda usare la crema regolarmente. È molto più difficile ignorare una bella bottiglia accanto alla sveglia che un barattalo dentro il comodino.

(EN) I took some pictures of our master bedroom during a sunny winter day. This room is one of my favourites in this house because of the wonderful light. I haven't really change the interior recently, basically only the colour of the pillowcases changes every now and then. I bought a bottle of hand cream to keep on the nightstand just before Christmas. It's a perfect solution for a person like me who has really dry hands especially in the winter but forgets to apply cream regulary. It's much more difficult to ignore a pretty bottle next to the alarm clock than a jar hidden inside the nightstand.

Hiljainen herättäjä

(FI) Meidän viikonlopun ja lähipäivien suunnitelmat menivät uusiksi, kun mies kaatui eilen polkupyörällä ja olkanivel meni sijoiltaan. Potilas on kyllä ihan hyväkuntoinen, mutta kun toinen käsi on poissa pelistä, on moni juttu aika hankalaa. No, nyt kuitenkin varsinaiseen asiaan. Minulla on ollut jo jonkin aikaa yöpöydällä oma herätyskello, kun kyllästyin kurkkimaan aikaa miehen yöpöydällä olevasta kelloradiosta, enkä toisaalta halua kännykkää yöpöydälle. Olen kuitenkin vähän huono nukahtamaan iltaisin eikä herätyskellon ääni auttanut asiaa, etenkin kun tikitys tuntui oikein kaikuvan muovisen Componibili-yöpöydän pinnasta. Käydessäni Fritz Hansenin liikkeessä Helsingissä hoksasin kysyä mukavalta myyjältä, miten kovaäänisiä heidän myymänsä herätyskellot ovat, ja ryhdyimmekin sitten vertailemaan niiden ääntä. Georg Jensenin HK-herätyskello vaikutti selvästi hiljaisemmalta kuin muut, joten suuntasin sen kanssa kassalle. Nyt olen koekäyttänyt kelloa kuukauden verran ja täytyy sanoa, ettei käyntiääntä kuule lainkaan! Kellossa on myös kätevä hipaisukytkin valolle, jos haluaa katsoa aikaa pimeässä. Ehdottoman onnistunut hankinta, jota voin suositelle muillekin, jotka haluavat herätyskello mutteivät tikitystä. Luettavana olevan Finlandia-voittajakirjan suhteen minulla on sen siijaan ristiriitaisemmat tunteet, sillä joitakin kohtia lukee mielellään ja teksti imee mukaansa, mutta välillä kerronta tuntuu liian pitkitetyltä ja alkaa vain odottaa, että pääsisi jo viimeiselle sivulle...

(IT) I piani che avevamo per il fine settimana e per i prossimo giorni sono stati cambiati quando mio marito è  caduto ieri con la bicicletta e si è lussato una spalla. Il paziente sta bene ma tante cose sono difficili da fare quando si può usare solo una mano. Ma andiamo al dunque. Da un po' di tempo ho una sveglia sul mio comodino perché mi sono stancata di dover guardare l'ora dalla radiosveglia che sta sul comodino di mio marito. Ho però spesso difficoltà di addormentarmi la sera e il tic tac della sveglia mi disturbava un po' anche perché il suono si rifletteva sulla superfice del Componibile. Quando ho visitato il negozio di Fritz Hansen ho chiesto alla commessa com'erano le sveglie che vendevano e abbiamo cominciato a paragonare il loro suono. La sveglia HK di Georg Jensen sembrava più silensiosa delle altre quindi l'ho portata alla cassa. Ora ho usato la sveglia per un mesetto e devo dire che il tic tac non si sente proprio! C'è anche un tasto a sfioramento per accendere la luce se si vuole vedere l'ora al buio. Un acquisto davvero riuscito che posso consigliare anche agli altri che vogliono una sveglia silenziosa.

(EN) There was a change to our plans for this weekend and for the next days because my husband fell yesterday off the bicycle and a shoulder dislocated. The patient is feeling well but it's difficult to do many things with just one hand. Anyway, let's get down to business. I have had for some time an alarm clock on my night stand because I got tired of trying to see the time from the clock radio on my husbands night stand. Only I have sometimes problems falling asleep and the tick of the alarm clock really didn't help as the sound seemed to echo from the Componibili surface. When I visited the Fritz Hansen store in Helsinki I asked how loud their alarm clocks were and we started to compare them with the nice salesperson. The HK alarm clock by George Jensen seemed to be the most silent so I brought it to the cashier. I have now used the clock for about a month and I have to say that you really can't hear any ticking! There's also a touch switch for the light if you want to see the time in the dark. So I'm really happy with my purchase and I can recommend it also to others that want a silent alarm clock.

Talvinen makuuhuone

(FI) Täällä blogissa ei ole taidettu vähään aikaan vierailla meidän makuuhuoneessa - ehkä siksi, ettei siellä ole tapahtunut oikeastaan minkäänlaista muutosta sen jälkeen, kun matto palasi takaisin oltuaan välillä lainassa olohuoneessa. Pari tuikkukynttilää olen tännekin tuonut, mutta muuten joulu ei kyllä näy tilassa. Monday to Sunday Homen pellavalakana on ollut päiväpeitteenä juuri niin ihana kuin kuvittelinkin. Nytkin petaus on aika huolimattomasti tehty, mutta kun pellava on itsessäänkin ryppyistä, eivät pienet peittomuhkuratkaan haittaa. Sellaista olen vähän miettinyt, että ehkä ompelen tänne jossakin vaiheessa valkoiset pellavaverhot, kun kangastakin löytyisi jo valmiiksi kotoa. Verhot häivyttäisivät vähän noita ruskeita ikkunanpieliä, joihin en ole todellakaan ihastunut.

(IT) È passato un po' di tempo dall'ultima volta che ho fatto vedere la nostra camera da letto qui nel blog ma sarà perché è rimasta praticamente uguale dopo che ci ho rimesso il tappeto che stava per un po' in soggiorno. Ho portato nella stanza un paio di portalumini ma per il resto non ci voglio mettere decorazioni di natale. Sono stata molto contenta del lenzuolo in lino di Monday to Sunday Home che usiamo come copriletto. Anche ora ho fatto il letto molto in fretta me siccome il lino è sempre un po' stropicciato non fa niente se le coperte che stanno sotto non sono messe proprio benissimo. Potrebbe essere che aggiungerò nella stanza a qualche punto le tende in lino bianco, visto che avrei già della stoffa a casa. Le tende coprirebbero un po' le finestre di legno che non mi piacciono affatto.

(EN) I haven't shown any pictures of our bedroom for a while but that's simply because there's hasn't been much going on after the rug returned back here after being in the living room for a while. I have brought in the room a couple of tealight holders but for the rest I don't want to put here any Christmas decoration. I'm really happy with the Monday to Sunday Home linen sheet that we're using as a bedspread. It doesn't matter if the duvets are not quite smooth under the sheet since linen is always a bit wrinkly anyway. I'm thinking of adding white linen curtains to the room because I already have some linen fabric at home. The curtains would help to hide the wooden window frames that I really don't like.

Harmaata pellavaa

(FI) Makuuhuoneemme sai kesälomatuliaisina uuden kauniin vaaleanharmaan pellavapäiväpeitteen ja sen myötä tilan sävymaailma vaihtui kesäistä lämpimämmäksi ja tunnelma kodikkaaksi. Päiväpeite on oikeastaan Monday to Sunday Homen parivuoteen lakana, mutta toimii kokonsa puolesta erinomaisesti päiväpeittona. Kiitos, ihana Päivi, kun ehdit muutto- ja remonttikiireistä huolimatta pohtia kanssani värivalintaa! Valkoiset pellavatyynyliinat ovat myöskin Monday to Sunday Home -mallistoa ja isot ruskeat tyynyliinat olen joskus tuonut Tallinnan Zizistä. Synttärilahjani päätyi myös lopulta tähän huoneeseen aputuoliksi, jolle voi taitella illalla päiväpeitteen.

(IT) Abbiamo portato dalle vacanze un nuovo copriletto in lino grigio chiaro e l'atmosfera della nostra camera da letto è diventata subito più intima e accogliente che in estate. Il copriletto è in realtà un lenzuolo della linea Monday to Sunday Home ma la misura è proprio giusta per poterlo usare come copriletto. Grazie a Päivi che mi ha aiutata a scegliere il colore adatto nonostante la fretta causata dai lavori in casa e dal trasloco! Le federe bianche sono anche quelle della stessa marca e le federe marroni le ho portate anni fa da Zizi a Tallinn. Anche il mio regalo di compleanno è finito in questa stanza e ci appoggiamo sempre il copriletto per la notte.

(EN) We brought from the summer holidays a new light gray linen bedspread and the whole bedroom feels now much more cosy and intimate than in the summer. The bedspread is actually a normal linen sheet for double bed by Monday to Sunday Home but the size is perfect for using it as a bedspread. A big thank you to lovely Päivi who was busy with renovation and removal but helped me anyway  to choose the colour! The white pillowcases are also by Monday to Sunday Home and I have bought the brown pillowcases years ago at Zizi in Tallinn. My birthday present has also ended up in this room and it serves a place for the bedspread during the night.
