Kanto kirjastohuoneessa

(FI) Kirjastohuoneen nurkkaan tuli ihanasti tilaa, kun vaihdoin ison (sisustus)lehtiä sisältäneen rottinkikorin tilalle ruokasalissa olleen Artekin Kanto-telineen. Nyt sinne ei voikaan enää jemmata liian isoja lehtipinoja kerralla, mikä pakottaa lajittelemaan lehtiä säännöllisesti. Samassa syssyssä tuli raivattua miehen työpöytäkin taas ihan siistiksi, miehen itsensä avustuksella tietenkin. Tänään  näkymä on kyllä jo huomattavasti sotkuisempi kuin näissä pari päivää sitten ottamissani kuvassa, sillä pöydälle on jo alkanut muodostua uusia paperikasoja, ja myös omalla työpöydälläni vallitsee tällä hetkellä pienimuotoinen luova kaaos. Mitenkä teillä, pysyvätkö liput ja laput hyvässä järjestyksessä ja mapitatteko heti säilytettävät paperit? Meillä olisi tässä suhteessa huomattavasti parannettavaa. Mukavaa sunnuntai-iltaa!

(IT) L'angolo della nostra stanza biblioteca è diventato molto più spazioso quando ho tolto il cestino pieno di riviste (di arredamento) e ci ho portato il portariviste Kanto di Artek che prima stava nella sala da pranzo. Ora la pila dev'essere per forza tenuta sotto controllo. Mentre c'ero ho anche sistemato un po' la scrivania di mio marito che mi ha naturalmente aiutato. Ho fatto queste foto un paio di giorni fa, ora le pile di carte sono già cominciate a tornare e anche sulla mia scrivania c'è un po' di caos creativo. Voi riuscite a tenere tutte le cose in ordine e mettere le carte importanti subito nei raccoglitori? Noi avremmo veramente da migliorare in questo riguardo. Buona serata di domenica!

(EN) The corner of our library room looks much more spacious after I changed the old big basket full of (interior) magazines to Kanto magazine holder by Artek that used to be in the dining room. Now I can no longer let the pile grow too much. While at work I also cleared off my husband's desk since he was willing to help me. I took these pictures two days ago, now the paper piles have started to grow again and there's a little bit of a creative chaos also on my desk. Are you able to keep all the things organized and file the important papers immediately? We really have some room for improvement in this matter. Have a nice Sunday evening!

Työhuoneessa tapahtuu

(FI) Tänään join lauantain perinteisen kahvikupillisen kakkosolohuoneenakin toimivassa alakerran työhuoneessa, jonka sisustuksessa tapahtui viikolla pari muutosta. Ensinnäkin Ikeasta tilaamani iso juuttimatto saapui vihdoin ja entinen raitamatto siirtyi vierashuoneeseen. Eilen kiertelin kuopuksen kanssa kaupungilla ja käytettyjä huonekaluja myyvässä liikkeessä teimme melkoisen heräteostoksen, kun mukaan lähti kolmella kympillä vähän kovia kokenut antiikkinen taulu. Tai ei taulu itse asiassa lähtenyt heti mukaan, vaan kävimme hakemassa sen myöhemmin autolla, sillä taulun kanssa olisi ollut vähän hankalaa seikkailla ratikassa. Puhdistin taulun pinnan illalla varovasti ja värit kirkastuisivat varmaan vielä huomattavasti ammattilaisen käsittelyssä. Taulussa on signeerauskin, mutta siitä ei valitettavasti saa selvää. Tykkäättekö te tällaisesta vanhasta taiteesta, jota näkee itse asiassa nykyään aika paljon sisustuskuvissa? Ennen muutoksia työhuoneessa näytti tältä.

(IT) Oggi ho bevuto il tradizionale caffè del sabato nello studio del piano di sotto che funziona anche come secondo soggiorno. L'arredamento della stanza è cambiato di nuovo un po' negli ultimi giorno. Innanzitutto il grande tappeto di iuta che avevo ordinato da Ikea è finalmente arrivato e il vecchio tappeto a strisce è stato spostato nella stanza per gli ospiti. Ieri sono stata in centro con mia figlia più piccola e nel negozio che vende mobili usati abbiamo comprato un quadro antico un po' sofferto a trenta euro. In realtà non l'abbiamo portato subito a casa ma siamo tornati a prenderlo più tardi con la macchina perché portarlo nel tram non sarebbe stato molto pratico. Ho pulito la superficie del quadro ieri sera con gentilezza e credo che i colori sarebbero ancora molto più vivaci dopo un restauro fatto da professionista. Nel quadro c'è anche la firma del pittore ma purtroppo non si riesce a leggere. Vi piacciono questo tipo di quadri vecchi che si vedono ormai abbastanza spesso nelle foto di arredamento? (EN) Today I had my traditional Saturday cup of coffee in the downstairs home office that functions also as a second living room. I have done a couple of changes in the room during this week. First of all a big jute rug I ordered from Ikea finally arrived and the old rug moved to the guest room. Yesterday I spent time in the center with my younger daughter and in a shop that sells old furniture we did an impulse purchase and bought an antique painting for thirty euros. We didn't actually bring it home immediately but went to fetch it later by car because it would have been a bit difficult to take it in the tram. I cleaned the surface gently in the evening and the colours would probably be still a lot brighter after a professional restoration. The painting is also signed but unfortunately it's impossible to figure the name out. Do you like this kind of old art pieces that you see actually quite a lot in the interior pictures these days? Kuviot kuriin työhuoneessa

(FI) Mustavalkoinen graafisuus on alkanut viime aikoina tökkiä siinä määrin, että siirsin voimakkaasti kuvioidut sohvatyynyt olohuoneesta ensin alakerran työhuoneeseen ja nyt ne ovat saaneet sielläkin kyytiä. Tilalle on tullut neulosta ja pellavaa, ja tyynyjen sävyt ovat mahdollisimman rauhallisia ja harmonisia. Takarivin siniharmaan tyynynpäällisen ompelin itse vanhasta liian lyhyestä pellavaverhosta ja sohvan yläpuolella olevaan tyhjänä ammottaneeseen taulunkehykseen tuunasin omaa "taidetta" sisalnarusta. Lopputulos on ainakin omaan silmääni aika kiva, mutta narua täytyy ehkä vielä lisätä. Työhuoneen mattokin on menossa vaihtoon, mutta uutta isompaa mattoa pitää vielä odottaa jonkin aikaa. Raitamatto siirtyy mahdollisesti vierashuoneeseen, missä se jäisi suureksi osin vuoteen alle piiloon mutta peittäisi silti nykyisiä lampaantaljoja enemmän kokolattiamattoa. Jos nimittäin en oikein tule toimeen ylempien kerrosten laminaattilattioiden kanssa niin alakerran kokolattimattojen kanssa olen ilmiriidoissa. Minä nimittäin haluan pestä lattioita! Paikallisten vuokra-asuntojen pintamateriaalien onneton taso olikin ikävä yllätys tänne Saksaan muuttaessa. Jotenkin olin kuvitellut, että kokolattiamattoja käytetään Euroopassa yleisesti suunnilleen vain Brittilässä, mutta kuinka väärässä olinkaan. Onneksi meillä matot eivät ole kirkkaanpunaisia kuten eräässä muuten todella kivassa asunnossa. Tuon valkoisen nojatuolin viereen kaipaisin vielä lattiavalaisinta lukulampuksi ja sohvapöydän maalaaminen mustaksi houkuttelisi kovasti tällä hetkellä, sillä huoneessa on jo aika montaa eriväristä puuta, mutta täytyy katsoa tilannetta uuden maton tultua.

(IT) Ultimamente mi sono stancata dello stile grafico tutto in bianco e nero tanto che prima ho spostato i cuscini con motivi molto grafici sul divano del mio studio al piano di sotto e ora li ho tolti anche lì. I nuovi copricuscini sono in maglia oppure in lino e i colori sono molto tranquilli e armoniosi. Il copricuscino grigio al centro nella seconda fila l'ho cucito io da una tenda di lino troppo corta e nella cornice dorata ho creato una specie di "opera d'arte" con del nastro di sisal. Sono abbastanza contenta dell'effetto ma forse ci devo aggiungere un altro po' di nastro. Ho intenzione di sostituire anche il tappeto con un uno ancora più grande ma lo dovrò ancora aspettare per un po'. Il tappeto a strisce va probabilmente nella camera per gli ospiti dove sta quasi coperto dal letto ma copre comunque la moquette meglio che le pelli di pecora che ci sono ora. Se mi lamento dei pavimenti di laminato dei piani di sopra la moquette non la sopporto proprio perché io i pavimenti li voglio anche lavare! In effetti quando siamo arrivati in Germania è stata proprio una brutta sorpresa scoprire come sono la maggior parte degli appartamenti che si danno in affitto. Pensavo che la moquette fosse usata praticamente solo in Inghilterra ma mi sono proprio sbagliata. Almeno quella che abbiamo noi non è rossa come in un altro appartamento che per il resto era molto bello. Vorrei ancora avere una lampada da lettura accanto alla poltrona bianca e in questo momento mi piacerebbe anche verniciare il tavolino di nero perché ci sono tanti diversi tipi di legno nella stanza, ma prima devo vedere come sembra con il nuovo tappeto.

(EN) I've gotten so tired of the graphic black and white style that first a took all the cushion covers with a strong pattern to my home office couch downstairs and now I have removed them also from  there. The new cushion covers are knitted or linen and I chose colours that are calming and harmonious. The grey one in the middle of the back row I sewed myself from an old too short linen curtain and in the golden frame there's new "art" made using sisal twine. I'm quite happy with the result but maybe I should add some more twine. I'm going to replace the Ikea rug with a new bigger one but it still has to arrive. The old rug will probably go to the guest bedroom where it will mostly be hidden by the bed but will still cover more of the carpet than two sheepskins do. If I complain about the laminate flooring in the upper floors the carpet is something that I really detest because I want to be able to wash the floors! In fact when we arrived in Germany it was a nasty surprise to discover what kind of materials are used in the homes for rent. I had thought that wall-to-wall carpets were used basically only in Britain but I was so wrong. At least the carpets we have are not red as in one otherwise lovely apartment. I would like to have a floor lamp for reading next to the white armchair and at the moment I would also love to paint the coffee table black because there are so many different wood colours in the space, but first I need to see the room with the new rug.

Pehmeää pellavaa

(FI) Työhuoneen sälekaihtimet eivät pimentäneet iltapäivällä ikkunasta porottavaa aurinkoa riittävän tehokkaasti ja näyttöpäätetyöskentely oli ajoittain kovin hankalaa. Ratkaisin ongelman hankkimalla huoneeseen lisäksi pellavaverhot, ja täytyy sanoa, että verhojen myötä huone muuttui myös paljon kodikkaammaksi. Matto vaihtuu varmaan taas jossakin vaiheessa mustavalkoiseksi, mutta kyllä täällä nytkin jo viihtyy. Sisustus on kieltämättä melkoinen tyylien sekoitus, mutta se on oikeastaan ihan hauskaakin. Työpöytä on Muuramen klassikko, jonka nurkkaosaan on vaihdettu moottorijalka, jolloin pöydän korkeuden voi säätää sopivaksi. Mustan lasisen magneettitaulun olen hommannut muutama vuosi sitten Artekista.

(IT) Le tende alla veneziana dello studio non erano sufficienti nel pomeriggio quando il sole splende dalla finestra ed era veramente difficile lavorare al computer, ma abbiamo risolto il problema comprando un paio di tende di lino. Devo dire che la stanza è diventata anche molto più accogliente quando ho appeso le tende. Penso proprio di rimetterci a qualche punto il tappeto di Ikea in bianco e nero ma sono piuttosto contenta dell'arredamento che è proprio una miscela di stili diversi. La scrivania è un classico di Muurame e abbiamo cambiato le gambe del tavolo ad angolo con una gamba motorizzata quindi è facile regolarne l'altezza. La bacheca in vetro nero l'ho comprata già qualche anno fa da Artek.

(EN) The venetian blinds of my home office were not quite enough in the afternoon when the sun beats down through the window and it was really difficult to work on the computer. I resolved the problem with a pair of linen curtains and I have to admit that the room is now also a lot cosier than before. I'll probably bring the black and white Ikea rug back to this room at some point but for the rest I'm quite happy with the present decor that is a funny mixture of different styles. The desk is a Muurame classic but we have changed the leg to an adjustable one with a motor. I bought the magnetic glass blackboard a few years ago at Artek.

Patjapino kuriin

(FI) Työhuone järjestykseen -projekti jatkuu, ja nyt on varapatjapinokin vihdoin ojennuksessa. Löysin netistä edullisen täyspuisen sängynrungon, jonka alla oleva ulosvedettävä laatikko toimii toisena sänkynä. Pari taittopatjaa siirtyi säilytykseen vaatekomeron päälle, jolloin patjoja on vain yksi per sänky ja ne pysyvät paikallaan. Nämä patjat ovat lähinnä lapsivieraita varten, kun vierashuoneessa on kuitenkin jo parisänky, joten kaksi erillistä sänkyä toimii sikälikin hyvin tässä tilassa. Eihän tämä nyt mikään unelmakaluste ole, mutta ajaa hyvin asiansa.

(IT) Il progetto per sistemare meglio il mio studio continua e ora abbiamo risolto il problema della pila di materassi. Ho trovato su internet una struttura di letto in legno massiccio con un altro letto estraibile sotto e anche il prezzo era molto buono. Due materassini pieghevoli stanno ora sopra un armadio quindi c'è solo un materasso per letto invece di una pila poco stabile. Questi materassi sono usati solo quando ci visitano famiglie coi bambini, visto che nella stanza per gli ospiti c'è già un letto matrimoniale, quindi è pratico avere due letti separati qui. Questo letto non è certo un mobile che ho sognato di avere ma funziona comunque bene qui.

(EN) My home office decoration project continues and now we have resolved the problem we had with the pile of guest mattresses. I found online this quite cheap wooden bed with another pull-out bed under it. We moved two small fold up mattresses above a wardrobe so there's only one mattress per bed left instead of a moving pile. These beds are used only by child guests since we also have a double bed in the guest room so it's also better to have two separate beds here. It's not a piece of furniture I have dreamed of but I think it works fine in this space.

Työhuoneen Thonet

(FI) Olen vakaasti päättänyt ottaa alakerran työhuoneen puolitiehen jääneen sisustuksen paremmin haltuun. Tähän projektiin liittyy aamupäivällä hakemamme eBay-löytö, joka on Thonetin sohvapöytä. Pienen puhdistuksen jälkeen pöytä on lähes uudenveroinen ja sopii huoneeseen mielestäni erinomaisesti. Pöytä on väriltään tumman ruskea, vaikka näyttää kuvissa lähinnä mustalta. Ehdotin jo miehelle, että voisimme sovittaa pöytää joskus vaihteen vuoksi myös olohuoneeseen, mutta ehdotus tyrmättiin oitis. (Epäilen syyksi sitä, ettei olohuoneen tammista sohvapöytää ole kovin kevyt kantaa portaissa.) Myös valkoinen klassinen nojatuoli on uusi hankinta. Se löytyi Summer Housesta ja oli vielä erinomaisessa tarjouksessa. Seuraavaksi pitäisi jotenkin siistiä sohvan virkaa tekevää vieraspatjapinoa ja selvittää epämääräiset paperikasat. Mitäs te tykkäätte löydöstäni?

(IT) Ho deciso di migliorare l'arredamento dello studio al piano di sotto e rendere la stanza più accogliente. Ecco perché siamo andati stamattina a prendere un tavolo di Thonet che ho trovato via eBay. Dopo una bella pulizia il tavolo sembra quasi nuovo e sta benissimo nella stanza. È marrone scuro anche se sembra quasi nero nelle foto. Ho già proposto a mio marito di provare qualche volta di metterlo in soggiorno ma la risposta è stata negativa. (Penso che il motivo sia il fatto che il tavolino del soggiorno in rovere massiccio è molto pesante da portare per le scale.) Anche la classica poltrona bianca è nuova. L'abbiamo trovata da Summer House e il prezzo era pure scontatissimo. Dovremmo ancora sistemare in qualche modo la pila di materassi che cerca di simulare un divano e archiviare tutte le pile di carte. Cosa ne pensate del mio acquisto?

(EN) I have decided to make the downstairs home office a bit more inviting and that's why we went this morning to get a Thonet coffee table I found on eBay. After some elbow grease it's as good as new and fits the room perfectly. The table is dark brown even if it looks almost black in the pictures. I suggested my husband that we could try the table sometimes also in the living room but he promptly refused. (It has probably something to do with the stairs and the weigh of the living room coffee table.) Also the white classic armchair is new. We found it in Summer House and it was in a really good offer. Next we should find a better solution for the pile of mattresses that simulates a couch and archive all the papers. Do you like my eBay find?

Työpiste

Innostuin niin kovasti saamastani Uusi kuvakulma -haasteesta, että päätin kuvata myös "kirjastohuoneessa" olevan miehen käyttämän työnurkkauksen. Saattoi asiaan tietysti vaikuttaa sekin, että työpöytä saatui kerrankin olemaan melko siisti. Olen suunnitellut työpisteen tammikalusteet itse monta vuotta sitten silloiseen kotiin sopiviksi ja teettänyt ne puusepällä. Vasemmalla olevan pienen kärryn saa tarvittaessa myös pöytätason alle, ja siinä on ulosliukuva hylly, jolla voi säilyttää esim. printteriä. Nykyään kärry kätkee lähinnä pahimmat paperisotkut. Viimeisessä kuvassa tarkkasilmäinen saattaa havaita olohuoneen puolella jotakin uutta, mutta palaan siihen uudemman kerran.

La sfida dei nuovi punti di vista mi ha entusiasmato tanto che ho fotografato anche l'angolo studio di mio marito nella "stanza biblioteca". Può essere che c'entra anche il fatto che questa volta il tavolo era abbastanza in ordine. Ho progettato i mobili in rovere vari anni fa per la casa in cui abitavamo e li ho fatti fare dal falegname. Il carrello a sinistra entra anche sotto il tavolo e c'è un ripiano estraibile per la stampante. Ora peró nasconde solo pile di carte accumulate. Se uno guarda con attenzione può accorgersi nell'ultima foto una cosa nuova nel soggiorno ma ne parlerò un'altra volta.

I got so excited about the new points of view challenge that I took also pictures of my husband's desk in our "library room". Also the fact that the desk was pretty tidy might have influenced the decision. I have designed the oak furniture years ago for the apartment we had then and had them made by a cabinetmaker. The trolley on the left fits also under the desk and has a sliding shelf for the printer. At the moment it only hides piles of paper. In the last picture you might notice something new in the living room but I'll talk more about that later.

Mitä muut edellä...

Alakerran työhuoneessa on kokolattiamatto, jonka repisin heti pois, jollei kyseessä olisi vuokra-asunto. Onneksi matto on sentään melko uusi ja puhdas. Huoneen ilme raikastui kuitenkin kummasti ja sen toimistomaisuus väheni, kun levitin lattialle kuuluisan "blogimaton". Kiitos tästä, Ikea ;)

Nello studio al piano di sotto c'è la moquette che toglierei subito se la casa non fosse solo affittata. Meno male che è abbastanza nuova e pulita. L'aspetto della stanza è comunque migliorato molto quando ci ho messo questo famoso tappeto. Non sembra più tanto stare in un ufficio. Grazie Ikea ;)

In the downstairs study there's a carpet that I would remove immediately if the house wasn't just rented. Well,  at least it's quite new and clean. I think the room got a lot nicer now that I put there this famous rug. I don't feel like being in an office anymore. Thank you Ikea ;)

Työhuone

Työhuoneesta ei ole helppo ottaa kuvia, kun siellä lojuu aina ylimääräistä tavaraa. Siivosin kuitenkin pari kuvakulmaa ja nappasin niistä kuvat.

È difficile fare foto nello studio perché c'è sempre roba in giro, carta o altro. Ora l'ho sistemato un po' e scattato un paio di foto.

It's difficult to take pictures in the study since it's always a bit messy. Now I did some organizing and took a couple of pictures.

Kotona jälleen

Kuvissa keittiön uusin hankinta (Iittalan -30 % alennus oli käyttämättä), pari kuvaa työhuoneesta ja pari olohuoneesta. Onpa kiva olla taas omassa kodissa, etenkin kun olemme päässeet jo parina päivänä rannallekin! Kukkakimpun sain mieheltä hääpäivän kunniaksi.

Nelle foto un nuovo acquisto per la cucina (avevo un buono sconto di 30 % per il negozio di Iittala), un paio di foto dallo studio e un paio dal soggiorno. Che bello essere a casa propria, anche perché siamo già andati al mare un paio di volte! Mio marito ha portato i fiori perché oggi abbiamo l'anniversario di matrimonio.

In these pictures there's a new purchase for the kitchen (I had a 30 % discout for one object at the Iittala store), a couple of photos of the study and a couple of the living room. It's nice to be at home again, also because we've already been two times to the beach! I got the flowers from my husband since we had our wedding anniversary today.
