Muotia ja kulttuuria

Tässä ovat Firenzen alelöytöni. Ohut neulepusero näyttää vähän oudon malliselta, mutta on päällä tosi kiva ja sopii hyvin silkkisen hameen kanssa. Ostin myös pari nahkavyötä, yhden hinta taisi olla noin kympin paikkeilla. Raahasimme Italiasta tavalliseen tapaan myös kirjoja sekä aikuisille että lapsille. Camillerin kirjan ehdin jo lukeakin, ja sen kansi sai vähän kosteutta uima-altaalla. Premio Strega -kirjallisuuspalkinnon voittajakirjan yritän lukea joka vuosi, vaikkei tämänvuotinen ehkä olekaan ihan kiinnostavimmista päästä. Italiassa on ihmeen vähän hauskoja kirjoja ala-asteikäisille (jollei halua ostaa jotain hömppäsarjoja), mutta Battello a vapore -sarjasta olemme viime aikoina löytäneet mukavaa luettavaa tytöille.

Ecco cosa ho trovato ai saldi a Firenze. Il modello della maglietta sembra un po' strano ma indossata è molto carina e sta bene con la gonna di seta. Ho comprato anche un paio di cinture di pelle, circa 10 euro l'una. Come al solito abbiamo comprato in Italia libri per tutti. Ho già finito il libro di Camilleri, ho pure bagnato la copertina in piscina. Cerco di leggere il vincitore di Premio Strega ogni anno anche se questa edizione non mi sembra interessantissima. Ultimamente abbiamo scoperto la serie Battello a vapore per ragazzi. Hanno tanti libri simpatici che piacciono alle nostre bimbe.

Here's what I bought from the sales in Florence. The model of the shirt looks strange but it's actually really nice with the silk skirt. I also bought two leather belts, they only cost about 10 euros each. Every time we go to Italy we buy books. I already finished reading the Camilleri book and its cover got wet by the pool. I try to read every year the Premio Strega winner, even though this year's winner doesn't seem so interesting. For the children we really like the Battello a vapore series. They publish lots of nice books that our girls love to read.

Firenze

Vaikka lomaviikko muuten sujui lähinnä uima-altaan ja ruokapöydän välillä, teimme yhden päivän retken junalla Firenzeen. Kiersimme ydinkeskustan kaikki keskeiset paikat, pysähdyimme syömään lounasta ja jäätelöä ja pizzaa välipalaksi ja kävimme tietysti myös muutamassa kaupassa, mutta pääasiassa teimme vain näyteikkunaostoksia. Museoihin en edes yrittänyt mennä lasten kanssa, sillä kaupunki oli täynnä turisteja ja ovien edessä pitkät jonot. (Itse olen Firenzen museot kyllä jo kiertänyt, mutta lapset varmaan arvostavat niitä enemmän vähän isompina.) Olin aika yllättynyt, kun kuopus sanoi kotimatkalla, että parasta koko Italian reissussa oli käynti Firenzessä. Jotenkin odotin vastaukseksi uima-allasta.

Anche se la maggior parte della settimana in Toscana l'abbiamo passata tra la piscina e il tavolo da pranzo, abbiamo anche fatto una gita a Firenze in treno. Abbiamo girato tutto il centro a piedi, pranzato e mangiato gelato e pizza per merenda e anche fatto un po' di shopping ma perlopiù abbiamo solo guardato le vetrine. Non ho neanche provato a portare le bimbe ai musei, anche perché le code per entrare erano molto lunghe. (Io ho già girato i musei a Firenze ma penso che le bambine li apprezzeranno di più quando saranno più grandi.) Sono stata piuttosto sorpresa quando mia figlia più piccola ha detto la cosa migliore della vacanza è stata questa gita. Per qualche motivo pensavo la risposta fosse la piscina.

Even though we spent most of the holidays between the pool and the dining table, one day we took a trip to Florence by train. We walked around in the center, had lunch and ice cream and pizza for snack and did some shopping and lots of window shopping. I didn't even try to take the girls to the museums, also because the queues were really long. (I have been to the museums in Florence but I think the girls will appreciate them more when they are a little older.) I was really surprised when my younger daughter said on our way back home that the best thing in Italy was this trip to Florence. I kind of expected the hear the swimming pool.
