Olin asettanut pääsiäislomalle kaksi tavoitetta: tyhjentää kaikki muuttolaatikot ja käydä Hampurissa. Toisen niistä saimme toteutettua lauantaina, kun kävimme junalla Hampurissa. (Toinen on valitettavasti vielä hieman työn alla, mutta kyllä sekin urakka vielä saadaan päätökseen.) Matka Bremenistä kesti vain runsaan tunnin ja sitten olimmekin suoraan keskustassa ja jatkoimme matkaa kävellen. Koska vietimme kaupungissa vain päivän, olimme päättäneet jo etukäteen, ettemme edes yritä käydä museoissa tms. vaan keskitymme kaupunkiin tutustumiseen. Parissa kaupassa tuli poikettua matkan varrella ja näköaloja kävimme katsomassa Michelin eli St. Michaelis Kirchen tornista. Menimme suosiolla ylös hissillä, koska kukaan ei halunnut kiivetä portaita enää siinä vaiheessa. Suklaamuseon kohdalla olimme tehdä poikkeuksen, mutta sinne ehdittyämme museoon ei enää otettu väkeä sisään ja jouduimme tyytymään visiittiin suklaamyymälässä. Pidimme lounastauon ja kahvilatauon ja pienen lepotauon kirkossa, mutta muuten kävelimme koko päivän ympäri kaupunkia, sillä emme malttaneet edes hypätä bussiin tai metroon. Seuraava Hampurin reissu suunnitellaankin sitten tarkemmin, koska silloin täytyy jo ottaa lähempää kontaktia kaupungin tarjontaan.
C'erano due cose che volevo assolutamente fare durante le vacanze di pasqua: svuotare le ultime scatole di trasloco e andare ad Amburgo. Uno dei obiettivi è stato raggiunto sabato quando abbiamo preso il treno per Amburgo. (L'altra cosa non è ancora del tutto finita ma ci stiamo lavorando.) Il viaggio da Brema dura solo un po' di più di un'ora e si arriva direttamente in centro quindi potevamo continuare a piedi. Avevamo deciso già prima di non andare nei musei, visto che c'era solo un giorno di tempo per girare nella città. Siamo entrati in un paio di negozi e siamo saliti nel torre della chiesa di St. Michaelis (in ascensore) per vedere il panorama. Avremmo quasi quasi voluto comunque visitare il museo del cioccolato ma era troppo tardi per entrare quindi siamo riusciti a vedere solo il negozio del museo e comprare un po' di cioccolato. Ci siamo fermati per pranzare e per fare merenda e abbiamo riposato un po' nella chiesa ma per il resto abbiamo girato la città tutto il tempo a piedi senza usare i mezzi pubblici. La prossima visita la dovremo progettare un po' meglio perché quando torniamo vogliamo già goderci di più di tutto quello che la città può offrire.
There were two things that I absolutely wanted to do during the Easter holidays: finish emptying the last moving boxes and going to Hamburg. One of the goals was reached when we took the train to Hamburg on Saturday. (The other one is still a work in progress but we're getting there.) The trip from Bremen only takes a little more than an hour and you arrive directly in the center and can continue by foot. Since we were only staying one day we had decided not to try to visit the museums but just to walk around and get know the city a bit. We did enter a couple of shops and took the elevator to the St. Michaelis church to enjoy the views. When we arrived to the Chocolate museum we were tempted to make an exception but it was too late to enter so we just visited the museum shop. We stopped to have lunch and a snack in a coffee house but for the rest just walked and didn't even take the bus or the subway. Before the next visit we'll have to plan a little bit more since we'll also want to enjoy a bit more what the city has to offer.
