Pantonin värikäs ruokala

(FI) Huhuu, täällä ollaan taas! Lomaltapaluu sujui vähän odotettua mutkikkaammin, sillä Italian reissun jatkoksi vietimme yhden yön Hampurissa paluulennon viivästymisen takia, ja kotona matkaväsymys vaihtuikin parissa päivässä oikein kunnon kesäflunssaan. Nyt sitten mennään jo elokuussa ja täällä lyhyen kesäloman maassa alkaa koulu torstaina. Onneksi loma oli todella onnistunut ja nautimme suuresti kauniista maisemista, ystävien tapaamisesta, hyvästä ruoasta ja italialaisesta elämänmenosta yleensäkin.

Lomakuvia olen jakanut ihan riittämiin Instagramissa, joten nyt siirrytään täällä blogissa heti muihin aiheisiin. Kun luin Valkoisen Harmajan Suvinsisustustuutisista Verner Pantonin Panthella-valaisimen uudesta versiosta, mieleeni muistui, että minulla on kovalevyn kätköissä kuvia Pantonin suunnittelemasta psykedeelisestä Spiegel-lehden ruokalasta, joka sijaitsee nykyään Hampurin taide- ja designmuseossa (Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe). Kävimme museossa muutama kuukausi sitten katsomassa paria näyttelyä, ja oli aika yllätys, kun löysimme tämän tilan, jonka olemassaolosta en ollut kuullutkaan. Panton suunnitteli vuonna 1969 koko Spiegelin lehtitalon sisustuksen ja tämä museon tiloihin siirretty ruokala on eräs harvoista kuuluisan pop-aikakauden suunnittelijan luomista, alkuperäisessä kunnossa olevista sisustuskokonaisuuksista. Monikohan yritys uskaltaisi nykyään repäistä ja tilata tällaisen sisustuksen toimitiloihinsa?

(IT) Ciao, eccomi di nuovo! Il ritorno dalle vacanze è stato un po' più complicato del previsto perché abbiamo dovuto passare una notte ad Amburgo dopo le vancanze, visto il ritardo del volo che ci ha fatto perdere anche l'ultimo treno. A casa la stanchezza causata dal viaggio è poi cambiata in un brutto raffreddore. Beh, ora siamo in agosto e giovedì qui in Germania dove le vacanze estive durano poco inizia già la scuola. Almeno le vacanze erano veramente ben riuscite, abbiamo goduto tanti bei paesaggi, incontri con amici, buon cibo e lo stile di vita italiana in generale.

Ho pubblicato abbastanza foto delle vacanze su Instagram quindi ora qui sul blog parleremo subito di qualcosa d'altro. Quando ho letto sul blog Valkoinen Harmaja che della lampada Panthella di Verner Panton esce una nuova versione, mi sono ricordata che ho sul computer foto della cantina psichedelica della rivista Spiegel, ora situata nel museo MKG (Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe) di Amburgo. Abbiamo visitato il museo qualche mese fa per vedere qualche mostra ed è stata una grande sorpresa trovare questo spazio di cui non sapevo nulla. Panton ha progettato nel 1969 tutti gli ambienti per la casa editrice Spiegel e questa cantina che è stata spostata nel museo è uno dei pochi arredi rimasti interi del designer dell'epoca pop art.  Quante aziende avrebbero oggi il coraggio di ordinare un arredamento del genere per la loro sede?

(EN) Hi, I'm back! The return from vacation wasn't quite as smooth as planned since we had to spend an extra night in Hamburg after the trip to Italy, due to the delay of our return flight. Once at home, the tiredness turned into a summer flu so I haven't been able to much during the last days. So now it's already August and here in Germany where summer holidays are quite short, school will start again on Thursday. At least the holiday was great, we really enjoyed visiting all the beautiful places, meeting friends, eating good food and the Italian lifestyle in general.

I have published so many holiday pictures on Instagram that I'm starting straight away with something totally different here on the blog. When I saw on the blog Valkoinen Harmaja that a new version of Verner Pantons famous Panthella lamp has been made, I remembered that I have on the hard disk pictures of the psychedelic Spiegel canteen, situated nowadays in the MKG museum (Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe) in Hamburg. We visited the museum some months ago to see some exhibition and I was quite surprised when we found this space I didn't know anything about. Panton designed the interior of the Spiegel publishing house in 1969 and this canteen that has moved into the museum is one of the few interior ensembles, designed by the famous pop art age designer, that have remained intact. I wonder how many companies would today have the courage to order this kind of an interior to their headquarters?

Herkuttelijan Hampuri

(FI) Hyvää italialaista ruokaa, erinomaista viiniä, herkullista suklaata ja upeaa designia - niistä aineksista oli meidän viime Hampurin reissu tehty. Design-osuudesta olenkin jo kertonut aiemmin täällä ja täällä, mutta nyt seuraa pari vinkkiä Hampuriin menijöille. Aloitetaan ruokapuolesta, sillä söimme herkullisen lounaan italialaisiin ja etenkin sisilialaisiin viineihin erikoistuneessa ristorante Gallo Nerossa, joka on oikea viininystävän mekka. Innokkaimmat (ja lämminverisimmät) viininharrastajat voivat  vaikka syödä illallista enotecan puolella viinikylmiössä arvoviinien vieressä, sillä siellä sijaitsee ensimmäisen kuvan ruokapöytä. Kuten huomaatte, intohimoinen suhde viineihin näkyy kaikkialla ravintolan sisustuksessa. Kauniista antipasti-annoksista muistin ottaa kuvan, mutta herkulliset pääruoat katosivat parempiin suihin ennen kuin ehdin kaivaa kameraa esille.

Gallo Nerosta jatkoimme opastetulle kierrokselle Chocoversumiin eli suklaamuseoon. Chocoversum on siitä kiva kohde, että se on kiinnostava sekä lapsille että aikuisille. Museossa käydään läpi koko suklaan valmistusprosessi ja kierroksella sai maistaa suklaata valmistuksen eri vaiheissa ja valmistaa oman suklaalevyn haluamillaan mausteilla. Kuvaaminen museossa oli aika hankalaa, mutta sain sentään ikuistettua pari suklaanvalmistuskonetta ja putkilot, joissa näkyy tumman suklaan ja maitosuklaan ero. Me osallistuimme saksankieliselle kierrokselle, mutta niitä järjestetään myös englanniksi. Kierroksen jälkeen voi tietysti vielä ostaa museon myymälästä muita suklaaherkkuja omatekoisen levyn lisäksi.

Täällä blogissa on nyt vähän hiljainen päivätystahti siitä syystä, että olen ollut jo viikon flunssainen ja olo tuntuu joka päivä melkein edellistä kurjemmalta. Toivottavasti suunta pian vaihtuu ja olo alkaa lähipäivinä olla vähän pirteämpi...

(IT) Buon cibo italiano, ottimo vino, delizioso cioccolato e bellissimo design - ecco gli ingredienti del nostro ultimo viaggio ad Amburgo. Ho già parlato di ciò che riguarda il design ma ora do un paio di consigli sui posti da visitare ad Amburgo. Cominciamo dal cibo perché abbiamo pranzato davvero bene al ristorante Gallo Nero che ha anche un'enoteca con ottimi vini italiani. I più entusiasti (e meno freddolosi) possono addirittura cenare in una cantinetta vetrata di vini accanto alle bottiglie di vini preziosi, perché il tavolino della prima foto si trova lì dentro. Come vedete, la dedizione ai vino è visibile dovunque nel ristorante. Sono riuscita a scattare una foto dagli antipasti ma i primi piatti delizioni sono stati divorati prima che abbia tirato fuori la macchina fotografica.

Dal Gallo Nero abbiamo continuato con un giro guidato al museo del cioccolato ovvero Chocoversum. È un museo molto bello perché è interessante sia per i grandi che per i piccoli. Durante il giro si presenta tutto il processo di produzione del cioccolato e si possono assaggiare i risultati delle varie fasi e anche preparare una tavoletta propria con i gusti preferiti. Era piuttosto difficile fotografare in questo museo ma sono riuscita a fare uno scatto a un paio di macchinari e anche ai tubi che mostrano la differenza di composizione tra il cioccolato fondente e quello al latte. Noi abbiamo partecipato al giro in lingua tedesca ma ne organizzano anche in inglese. Dopo il giro è naturalmente possibile comprare delizie di cioccolato dal negozio del museo.

Qui al blog non succede molto in questi giorni perché sono raffreddata da una settimana e ogni giorno mi sento quasi peggio del giorno precedente. Speriamo che la situazione cambi presto e che cominci a riprendere le forze nei prossimi giorni...

(EN) Tasty Italian food, great wine, delicious chocolate and beautiful design - these were the ingredients of our last trip to Hamburg. I have already shown you the part that regards design but now I'll tell you about a couple of places worth visiting in Hamburg. Lest's start from food because we had an excellent lunch at ristorante Gallo Nero, a restaurant with an enoteca specialized in Italian and especially Sicilian wines. The most enthusiastic wine lovers (who are not afraid of cold) can even dine in a glass wall wine cellar next to precious wines because the table in the first picture is situated inside one of these cellars. As you can see, the dedication to wines really shows in the interior of the restaurant. I remembered to take a picture of some of our antipasti but the wonderful pasta dishes were devoured before I took my camera out.

From Gallo Nero we continued to a guided tour in the chocolate museum Chocoversum. It's a really nice museum because it's interesting to both adults and children. During the tour the whole production process of chocolate is presented and visitors can taste the results of the various  phases and even create a chocolate bar with one's own favourite tastes. It was quite difficult to take pictures in the museum but I did get a couple of machines in the pictures as well as the plastic tubes that show the difference between dark and milk chocolate. We partecipated in a tour in German but they also organize tours in English. At the end of the tour it is naturally possibile to buy some more chocolate treats from the museum shop.

I'm not posting very frequently at the moment because I've had a flu for a week already and I almost feel worse from day to day. I hope this will change soon and I'll start getting my energy back...

Hello Handmade ja BYW

Sunnuntaiaamuna hyppäsin junaan ja lähdin Hampuriin käymään Hello Handmade -käsityömessuilla ja tapaamaan lähiseudulla asuvia  entisiä ja nykyisiä Blogging Your Way -kurssilaisia. Oli tosi hauska tutustua muihin bloggaajiin, suurkiitos Elodielle järjestelyistä ja kutsusta ja koko mahtavalle naisporukalle brunssiseurasta! Kuvia tapaamisesta löytyy täältä ja täältä. Messuilla oli niin paljon väkeä, ettei kaikkien pöytien lähelle päässyt ja kuvaaminenkin oli hankalaa, etenkin kun mukana oli vain pokkarikamera, mutta tässä nyt kuitenkin muutama kuva.

Domenica mattina ho preso il treno e sono andata ad Amburgo a visitare la fiera Hello Handmade e a incontrare altre partecipanti del corso Blogging Your Way. È stato molto bello conoscere altre bogger, grazie a Elodie per l'organizzazione e l'invito e a tutte per la simpaticissima compagnia! Qui e qui ci sono foto del nostro incontro. Alla fiera c'era tanta gente che era difficile vedere i prodotti e fotografare, anche perché avevo portato solo la macchina fotografica piccola, ma ecco comunque alcune foto.

On Sunday morning I took the train and headed to Hamburg to visit the Hello Handmade fair and to meet other current and former Blogging Your Way students. It was really nice to meet other bloggers, a big thank you to Elodie for the organization and the invitation and to all the lovely ladies for the nice time spent together during the brunch! You can see pictures of the meet-up here and here. The fair was really crowded and it was difficult to see all the products and take photos, also because I only had my small Canon Powershot with me, but here's a couple of pictures anyway.
