Tyynytuliaiset

(FI) Kotona ollaan jälleen ja palaan pian Habitare-juttuihin, kunhan saan kuvat ja ajatukset jonkinmoiseen järjestykseen. Vaikka shoppailu olikin reissulla hyvin marginaalisessa osassa,  Tikaun ja Marimekon liikkeistä löytyi olohuoneeseen uutta ilmettä tuomaan ajankohtaisen lämpimän ja pehmeän sävyiset tyynynpäälliset, ja 1kertaa2-malliston Seitti-tyynyn uusi beige-musta versio lähti mukaan värimalliksi. Tänä aamuna kipaisin kukkakauppaan hakemaan vähän raikkaamman näköisiä kukkia, ja lopputuloksena oli tuollainen rento sekalainen kimppu kaikkea kivaa, mitä liikkeestä löytyi. Lauantaina kotiin tullessani vanhat kuivahtaneet kukat törröttivät varsin surkean näköisinä maljakoissa. Täytyy ilmeisesti ensi reissulle lähtiessä antaa miehelle erikseen valtuutus heittää leikkokukat roskiin, jos niiden väri alkaa olla lähempänä ruskeaa kuin vihreää. Vai kuuluvatko (kuihtuneet) kukkakimputkin miehille näkymättömiin kodin yksityiskohtiin?

P.S. Kuten huomaatte, olen hieman muuttanut blogin nimeä. Tästä lähtien nimi on lyhyesti ja ytimekkäästi The Ex-minimalist. :)

(IT) Eccomi di nuovo a casa e appena avrò messo le foto e anche i pensieri in ordine, parleró qui sul blog delle cose viste durante la fiera Habitare. Fare lo shopping non è stato tra le priorità durante il viaggio, ma ho comunque trovato un paio di nuovi copricuscini in colori molto attuali da Tikau e Marimekko. Inoltre ho portato a casa un copricuscino Seitti di 1kertaa2 nella nuova versione beige, questo mi serve per avere un modello del colore. Stamattina ho fatto subito  un salto dal fioraio per prendere fiori freschi e ho scelto vari fiori che mi piacevano quindi il risultato è un mazzo di un po' di questo e di quello. Quando sono tornata a casa sabato sera, i vecchi fiori stavano ancora nei vasi in condizioni piuttosto tristi. Probabilmente dovrei dare prima di partire a mio marito l'autorizzazione ufficiale a buttare i fiori recisi se cominciano a essere più marroni che verdi. O forse anche fiori (morti) sono tra le cose di casa che sono invisibili per gli uomini?

P.S. Come notate, ho modificato il nome del blog. Da ora in poi il nome è semplicemente The Ex-minimalist. :)

(EN) Here I am back home again, and I will talk about the things I saw during the Habitare fair as soon as the pictures and my ideas are somewhat more organized. Shopping wasn't really among the main things of the trip, but I did find a couple of nice cushion covers in very fashionable warm tones from Tikau and Marimekko. I also brought home a Seitti cushion cover by 1kertaa2 in the beautiful new beige version, since I need it as a colour sample.  This morning I popped into the florist's to buy some fresh flowers and since I chose various flowers that looked interesting, I ended up with a really relaxed bunch of this and that. When I came home on Saturday, the old flowers were standing in the vases in a pretty sad shape. Before the next trip, I should probably give my husband an official authorization for throwing out the cut flowers if they look more brown than green. Or perhaps also (dead) flowers belong the things at home that are invisible to men?

P.S. As you can noticed, I have change the name of the blog. From now on the name is simply The Ex-minimalist. :)

Esikoisen huone

Kiristys ja lahjonta toimivat jälleen kerran ja esikoisen huone on vihdoin ja viimein siisti. ("Pääset katsomaan Hanni & Nanni 3 -leffaa vain, jos huone on siivottu.") Esikoinen varasi heti itselleen talon pienimmän makuuhuoneen, johon mahtuu vain juuri ja juuri kaikki tarpeellinen. Ripustettavia vaatteita tosin täytyy säilyttää pikkusiskon vaatekomerossa. Ikkunalla on pitkä rivi kummitädin lahjaksi antamia Iittalan Kivi-tuikkuja ja lattialla on meidän makuuhuoneessamme aiemmin ollut Tikaun matto. Kirjahylly saisi olla isompikin, mutta seinässä oleva ulkonema haukkaa ikävästi seinätilaa. Lokerikko pitäisi vielä ripustaa seinälle magneettitaulun viereen ja kissapiirustus on tarkoitus kehystää seinälle. Leluja kohta 11-vuotiaan huoneessa ei juuri enää ole, mutta muita aarteita sitäkin enemmän.

Ricattare e minacciare le figlie funziona sempre e ora anche la stanza della primogenita è finalmente messa in ordine. ("Puoi venire a vedere il film Hanni & Nanni 3 solo se la stanza è in ordine.") Lei ha scelto subito la camera da letto più piccola della casa dove entrano appena appena le cose più importanti. I vestiti da appendere li deve tenere nell'armadio della sorella. Sulla finestra ci sono tanti portalumini Kivi di Iittala, regalati dalla madrina. Il tappeto di Tikau era prima nella nostra camera da letto e ora è stato spostato qui. La libreria è un po' più piccola ma la forma della parete non permette averne una più grande. Dovremmo ancora appendere il cassetto del tipografo e il disegno del gatto dovrebbe essere incorniciato. I giocattoli non interessano più la nostra ragazzina quasi undicenne ma gli altri piccoli tesori sono tanti e importanti.

Bribing and threatening children always works and now our older girl's room is finally all tidied up. ("You can't come to see the film Hanni & Nanni 3 if your room is still messy.") She chose immediately the smallest bedroom of the house where you can just fit the most important pieces of furniture. The clothes that can't be put in the drawers are in her sister's wardrobe. All the Iittala Kivi votives on the window sill are gifts from the godmother. The Tikau carpet used to be in our bedroom but now it has moved here. The bookshelf is a bit small but there's no space for a bigger one because of the shape of the wall. The type case should still be attached to the wall and the cat drawing is waiting to be framed. Our almost eleven-year-old is not interested in toys anymore but she has lots of other small stuff and treasures that are really important.

Uudistunut olohuone

Ihanaa, puolen vuoden odotus on palkittu ja posti toi Tikaun oranssiraidallisen Stripe-maton. Matto oli oikeastaan tilattu lastenhuoneeseen, mutta se saikin nyt kunniapaikan olohuoneesta. Uudet Summer Housesta löytyneet sohvatyynyt ja pikkuesineiden erilainen asettelu muuttivat myös melkoisesti huoneen ilmettä, ja sohvanurkkaus tuntuu vihdoin vähän kotoisammalta. Valitsin vielä ihan sattumalta aamulla kukkakimppuun oransseja kukkia, ihan kuin olisin aavistanut maton saapuvan. (Pääset katsomaan olohuonetta ennen muutoksia tästä.)

Che bello, dopo sei mesi di attesa è finalmente arrivato il tappeto Stripe di Tikau a strisce arancioni e bianche. L'avevamo ordinato per la cameretta delle bambine ma ora l'abbiamo messo invece nel soggiorno. Anche i nuovi cuscini, trovati da Summer House, e gli altri oggetti sistemati nella stanza hanno fatto un bel cambiamento e l'angolo divano sembra finalmente un po' di più "nostro". Stamattina ho inoltre per caso scelto fiori arancioni nel mazzo di fiori come se avessi intuito che il tappeto sarebbe arrivato proprio oggi. I'm so happy, we finally got by post Tikau's orange and white Stripe carpet that we ordered six months ago. We actually ordered it for the children's room but now we put it in the living room. Also the new cushions from Summer House and other small objects make a huge difference and this part of the room finally feels more cosy. Funny enough I chose orange flowers for the bouquet in the morning, almost as if I had foreseen that the carpet would arrive today. (You can see the living room before the changes here.)
