Kahvia hortensian varjossa

(FI) Lauantain aamukahvikuviin pääsi tällä kertaa pieni valkoinen hortensia, joka tosin alkaa muuttua vihreäksi. En tiedä, onko vika kukintojen iässä vai kalkkipitoisessa kasteluvedessä. Täytyy katsoa, mitä tapahtuu, jos istutan tuon vähän isompaan ruukkuun. Meillä on viikonlopun ohjelmassa Suomi-koulua ja kaverisynttäreitä, ja jotakin pitäisi leipoa kevään ensimmäisistä raparpereista, jotka tosin löytyivät oman pihan sijaan lähiruokakaupasta. Taidan myös piipahtaa kohta kukkakaupassa, ennen kuin sen menee kiinni.

(IT) Oggi alla tazza di caffè fa compagnia una piccola ortensia bianca che però sta diventando verde. Non so se dipende dall'età dei fiori oppure dall'acqua dura con cui è stata annaffiata. Devo vedere che effetto fa piantarla in un vaso più grande. Nel programma del fine settimana abbiamo scuola di finlandese e compleanni delle amichette e dovrei anche preparare qualcosa del rabarbaro che ho trovato al supermercato vicino. Penso di fare anche un salto veloce dal fioraio prima che chiude.

(EN) Today there's a small white hydrangea in my Saturday coffee pictures. It's changing its colour to green, though. I don't know if this is caused by the age of the flowers or the hardness of the water. I'm going to try to plant the hydrangea to a bigger vase and see what happens. In the program of this weekend there's Finnish school and friends' birthday parties for the girls and I should bake something with this year's first rhubarb I found at the supermarket. I think I'll pop out to the flower shop as well, before it closes.

Vierashuoneen seinällä

(FI) Meidän vierashuoneessa on jotakin uutta ja ihanaa, sillä monitaituri Johannan upea valokuvateos on vihdoinkin kehyksissä ja seinällä. Valokuvan perille saaminen on tarina sinänsä, sillä lähetys seikkaili postissa muutamaan otteeseen, mutta nyt kuva tuo huoneeseen ihanan rauhallisen tunnelman ja ilahduttaa meille saapuvia yövieraita ja tietysti meitä itseämmekin. Ripustimme saman tien myös vierashuoneen peilin seinälle ja vanha mustaksi maalaamani taulunkehys pääsi sänkyä vastapäätä olevaan nurkkaan. Minun oli oikeastaan tarkoitus näyttää kuvia huoneesta vasta sitten, kun saan myös sängynpäädyn verhoiltua (kangas on jo odottamassa ompelua), mutta en sitten malttanutkaan odottaa. Nyt sitten haasteena on ommella tuo sängynpäädyn huppu ennen seuraavien vieraiden tuloa.

(IT) C'è qualcosa di nuovo nella stanza per gli ospiti e mi piace tantissimo. La bellissima foto fatta da Johanna, che è un vero e proprio multitalento, è finalmente incorniciata ed appesa al muro. C'è voluto un bel po' per farla arrivare fino alla destinazione visto che la foto ha fatto vari giri alle poste dopo la spedizione ma ora dona una bellissima atmosfera a questa stanza e porta gioia ai nostri ospiti e anche a noi naturalmente. Abbiamo appeso anche lo specchio alla parete e la vecchia cornice che ho dipinto nera ha trovato posto nell'angolo di fronte al letto. Pensavo di farvi vedere la stanza solo dopo aver cucito il rivestimento per la testata del letto (la stoffa ce l'ho già pronta) ma alla fine non ho resistito. Ora devo cercare di rivestire la testata prima dell'arrivo dei prossimi ospiti.

(EN) There's something new in our guest bedroom and I really love it. The beautiful picture taken by multitalented Johanna is finally framed and hung on the wall. It wasn't quite so easy to get the picture since it travelled a bit back and forth in the post but now it creates a wonderful peaceful feel to the room and delights your overnight guests and also us of course. We also hung the mirror on the wall and the old frame I have painted black found a place in the corner opposite to the bed. I was going to show you the room only after I had upholstered the bedhead (the linen fabric is already waiting) but I just resist any longer. Now my challenge is to find the time to upholster the bedhead before the next guests arrive.

Kuutamo eteisessä

(FI) Meidän eteisen valaistuspuoli alkaa olla hallussa, kun väliaikainen kattovalaisinratkaisu vaihtui One Nordicin Kuu-valaisimeen, josta jo kirjoittelinkin aiemmin. Mietin pitkään isomman ja pienemmän koon välillä, mutta kyllä tämä pieni on mittasuhteiltaan oikea tähän tilaan. Isompi olisi pitänyt ripustaa lähes kiinni kattoon, jotteivät roikkuvat rypistysnauhat olisi heiluneet liian alhaalla. Kuu sopii ainakin omasta mielestäni kivasti täydentämään uutta ja vanhaa yhdistelevää sisustusta. Kuuluuko soraääniä esimerkiksi Tuijan suunnalta?

(IT) L'illuminazione del nostro ingresso comincia ad essere sistemata ora che abbiamo cambiato la lampada temporanea per una lampada Kuu di One Nordic di cui ho già scritto prima. Ero un po' indecisa tra il modello più grande e quello più piccolo ma alla fine questo piccolo ha le proporzioni giuste per lo spazio. La lampada più grande avrebbe dovuto essere appesa quasi al tetto per evitare che le cordicelle che pendono arrivassero troppo in basso. Secondo me Kuu sta molto bene in questa miscela di mobili ed elementi d'arredo moderni e vecchi. Voi che ne pensate?

(EN) Our entryway lighting is pretty much ready now that we changed the temporary lighting fixture to a Kuu lamp by One Nordic I have already written a post on. I hesitated for quite a while between the bigger and the smaller one but at the end this smaller lamp has the right proportions for the space. We should have hung the bigger one almost attached to the ceiling in order to avoid that the hanging strings would be too low. I find that the lamp completes nicely the mixture of old and things things in the space. Do you agree?
