Amsterdamin lumoissa

(FI) Kesäloman lopussa tekemämme reissu Amsterdamiin oli kaikin puolin onnistunut ja ihastuimme kaikki kaupunkiin kovasti. Valokuvat sen sijaan eivät olleet ihan yhtä onnistuneita, sillä otin suurimman osan niistä kanaviristeilyllä liikkuvasta veneestä käsin. Teimme risteilyn pienen veneen kyydissä, mikä oli todella hyvä valinta, sillä pääsimme myös pienille kanaville, joiden varrella oli runsaasti kelluvia koteja eli asuntolaivoja. Veneen ystävällinen kapteeni päästi lisäksi juuri samana päivänä synttäreitä viettäneen kuopuksen vähäksi aikaa ruoriin ohjaamaan paattia. Kyseinen syntymäpäivä ei varmasti unohdu ihan äkkiä. Ihan hyvin se sujui ja ainoa törmäys toiseen veneeseen oli rupattelemaan keskittyneen kapteenin itsensä syytä. Poimin tähän nyt onnistuneimpia kuvia, mutta oli näissäkin vähän muokkaamista. Onneksi on Lightroom :)

(IT) Il viaggio che abbiamo fatto ad Amsterdam proprio prima della fine delle vacanze estive è stato veramente ben riuscito e la città ci è piaciuta tantissimo. Le foto invece non sono riuscite tanto bene perché ho scattato la maggior parte durante il giro in barca in movimento. Abbiamo fatto il giro in una barca piccola e la scelta è stata proprio giusta perché siamo riusciti ad andare anche nei canali piccoli dove c'erano tante case galleggianti. Il gentile capitano ha pure dato alla nostra secondogenita la possibilità di guidare la barca per un po' ed era il suo compleanno proprio quel giorno. Mi sa che è uno di quei compleanni che si ricorderà per sempre. È andato tutto benissimo, l'unica volta che siamo andati a sbattere contro un'altra barca era colpa del capitano stesso che si era distratto. Queste foto sono quelle riuscite meglio e le ho dovuto trattare un bel po'. Meno male c'è Lightroom :)

(EN) Our trip to Amsterdam at the end of the summer holidays was just perfect and we all fell in love with the city. The pictures instead didn't turn out quite as well because I took most of them during a canal cruise on board a moving boat. We chose a cruise in a small boat and it was a wise decision because we could enter also in the smaller canals and see lots of houseboats. The captain was really kind and let our younger daughter steer the boat for a while and it was her birthday that day. I'm pretty sure she will remember this special birthday forever. It went just fine and the only time we bumped into another boat it was because the captain himself was a bit distracted. Here are some of the best pictures I got but I still had to retouch them quite a bit. I'm so happy I have Lightroom in my computer :)

Nanfron luomuviinitilalla

(FI) Kävimme Sisiliassa tutustumassa Caltagironen kaupungin lähellä sijaitsevaan Nanfron luomuviinitilaan, jonka omistaa Lo Certon perhe. Tilalla on tuotettu luomuviiniä jo vuodesta 1998, ja viinit ovat voittaneet useita palkintoja. Huippuystävällinen isäntäväki esitteli meille paikkoja ja maistatti viiniä ja oliiviöljyä, ja oli aika hauska yllätys, kun jutellessa selvisi, että tilan isännällä on ystävänsä kautta vanhoja Suomi-kontakteja. Maailma on pieni, ei siitä pääse mihinkään. Tilalle on hiljattain remontoitu myös pari huoneistoa, joihin voi majoittua. Niistä en harmi kyllä tullut ottaneeksi kuvia, mutta mieleeni jäivät etenkin kauniit pyöreät käsintehdyt lattialaatat. Ostimme muutaman pullon viiniä kotiinkin ja olemme olleet niihin niin ihastuneita, että taidamme tilata jotakin laatua koko laatikollisen. Ihana paikka, jossa kannattaa ehdottomasti käydä ja viipyä vaikka muutama päivä uima-altaan reunalla viinitarhaa ihaillen.

(IT) Mentre eravamo in Sicilia siamo andati a visitare l'antica Tenuta del Nanfro della famiglia Lo Certo, situata vicino alla città di Caltagirone. L'azienda produce dal 1998 ottimi vini biologici che hanno vinto vari premi. I padroni di casa erano simpaticissimi, ci hanno fatto fare un giro nella tenuta e assaggiare il loro vino e olio d'oliva. È stata una simpatica sorpresa quando abbiamo scoperto che il padrone della tenuta ha vecchi contatti con la Finlandia tramite un suo amico. Il mondo è davvero piccolo. La tenuta ha da poco anche due appartamentini in cui è possibile soggiornare. Purtroppo non ho fatto foto dell'arredamento ma era molto bello il pavimento di piastrelle rotonde in ceramica fatta a mano. Abbiamo comprato qualche bottiglia di vino anche da portare a casa, e i vini che abbiamo già assaggiato ci sono piaciuti tanto che ora vogliamo ordinarne una scatola intera. Un posto meraviglioso che vale assolutamente la pena di visitare e non sarebbe una cattiva idea restarci per qualche giorno e passare le giornate al bordo della piscina ad ammirare i vigneti.

(EN) During our trip to Sicily we visited Lo Certo family's winery situated near the town of Caltagirone. Antica Tenuta del Nanfro produces organic wine since 1998 and their wines have won various prizes. The owners were really kind and showed us the winery and had us taste their wine and olive oil. It was a funny surprise when we discovered that our host had old contacts with Finland through a friend. The world really is smaller than you think. Since a couple of months the farm has also the possibility to accommodate guests in a couple of rooms that have their own bathrooms. It's a pity I didn't take any pictures of the interiors but the floors made of round handmade ceramic tiles were really beautiful. We bought a few bottles of wine to bring home and have liked them so much that we're thinking of ordering a whole box. The Nanfro farm is a wonderful place really worth a visit and I really wouldn't mind staying there a couple of days just lying by the pool and resting the eyes on the vineyard.
