Kierrätyskalusteita

Meille on ilmestynyt alakerran "harrastushuoneeseen" kolme komeroa paikkamaan säilytystilan puutetta. Askartelu- ja ompelunurkkaukseen löytyi vanha Ikean musta vitriinikaappi ja huoneen toiseen päähän pieni puinen vaatekomero ja peiliovinen komero, jonka edessä pikku ballerinat voivat harjoitella liikkeitä. Ikkunan eteen huusin eBaysta pöytäryhmän, johon kuuluu jatkettava pöytä ja neljä tuolia. Tuolien istuinosissa on vanhat likaiset verhoilut, joiden poistaminen on tällä hetkellä työn alla. Tarkoitus olisi verhoilla tuolit uudestaan mustalla kankaalla alkuperäisen tummanvihreän sijaan, mutta saa nähdä kauanko kestää, ennen kuin olen siinä vaiheessa. Kahden kankaan niittien irrottaminen on nimittäin aika hidasta hommaa.

Abbiamo trovato per la "stanza per gli hobby" tre nuovi armadi per aumentare lo spazio armadio. Nell'angolo in cui si fanno lavoretti vari e dove terremo la macchina per cucire c'è una vecchia vetrina nera di Ikea e dall'altra parte della stanza un piccolo armadio di legno e uno con gli specchi davanti a cui le nostre ballerine potranno esercitare. Davanti alla finestra ci sarà un tavolo allungabile con quattro sedie, comprati via eBay.  Nel momento sto togliendo i vecchi strati di tessuto verde scuro per poter rivestire le sedie con tessuto nero ma chissà quando saranno pronte. Ci vuole tempo per togliere tutte le spille che non sono poche.

We have some new furniture in our "hobby room" since we really needed more closet space. In the crafts and sewing corner there's an old black Ikea glass-door cabinet and at the other end of the room a small wooden wardrobe and and a bigger one with mirrored doors so that our little ballerinas can practice their moves. In front of the window there will be an extendable table with four chairs. At the moment I'm removing the old dark green fabric layers from the chairs because I want to reupholster them with black fabric. Who knows when they will be ready, though, since there really are lots of staples to pull out.

Valoa keittiöön

Vuokra-asuntomme keittiössä on halogeenispotteja yläkaappien yllä ja loisteputkia niiden alla, mutta kattovalo puuttuu ja sen myötä kunnon yleisvalo. Surffailin Finnish Design Shopin sivuilla ja vähän muuallakin ja etsin muutamia melko pienikokoisia valaisimia, joita itse mielelläni katselisin katossa. Esimerkiksi Artekin TW002 on upean yksinkertainen ja tyylikäs. Toisaalta houkuttaisi vähän mennä vastapäiseen antiikkikauppaan ja ostaa sieltä pieni kristallikruunu, kun nyt olen päässyt tyylien sekoittamisen makuun ;)

Nella nostra cucina ci solo lampadine sotto e sopra i pensili ma manca una lampada da soffitto che desse una buona illuminazione generale in tutta la stanza. Ho cercato dal sito di Finnish Design Shop e altrove alcune lampade di dimensioni contenute che mi piacerebbero vedere appese al soffitto. Per esempio la lampada TW002 è molto semplice ma elegantissima. Dall'altro canto mi piacerebbe anche andare a comprare un piccolo lampadario in cristallo al negozio di antiquariato di fronte ora che ho iniziato a mescolare gli stili ;)

In our kitchen there's illumination above and under the wall cabinets but there's still no pendant hanging from the ceiling and the room really needs a good ambient lightning. I searched for some nice and relatively small lamps from the Finnish Design Shop site and a couple of other places. I wouldn't mind having one of these in my kitchen. For example the TW002 by Artek is really simple but elegant. On the other hand I would also like to buy a small crystal chandelier from the antiques shop across from our house now that I have started mixing different styles ;)

Kukka- ja tyttöenergiaa

Kotimme lähellä on aivan ihana kukkakauppa, jossa käväisimme perjantaina ostamassa kukkia. Tytär valitsi vaaleanpunaista ja minä valkoista, ja kukkakaupan lisäämät vihreät pääsivät jälleen omaan maljakkoonsa eli vanhaan apteekkipulloon. Tällä hetkellä ulkona sataa vettä, mutta kaipa tässä jossakin vaiheessa täytyy käväistä ulkonakin pienellä kävelyllä, Muuten ohjelmassa on lähinnä laiskottelua ja tyttöjen elokuvailta. Lapset alkavat muuten ymmärtää puhuttua kieltä minua paremmin, joten täytyy yrittää opiskella saksaa vaikka elokuvien avulla...

Vicino a casa nostra c'è un negozio di fiori bellissimo e venerdì ci abbiamo fatto un salto. Mia figlia ha scelto fiori rosa e io bianchi. Ho tolto i rami verdi aggiunti al mazzo e li ho messi in una vecchia bottiglia di farmacia. Ora fuori piove ma a qualche punto dovremmo fare comunque una piccola passeggiata. Per il resto solo relax oggi e per le donne piccole e grandi serata con un dvd. Siccome le bambine cominciano a capire la lingua parlata meglio di me, devo cercare di studiare il tedesco anche guardando film...

Near our home there's a fabulous flower shop and on Friday we went to buy some flowers. My daughter chose pink and I chose white. I took the green branch added to the bouquet and put it in an old pharmacy bottle. At the moment it's raining outside but I think we'll go for a walk at some point anyway. For the rest we're just going to relax and for the girls there's going to be a movie night. Since our girls start to understand the spoken language better than I do, I'll have to try to study German also watching films...
