Lunta!

Sääennusteet eivät pettäneet, ja lasten iloksi alkoi aamulla pyryttää lunta. Lähipäivinä on kyllä tulossa taas lämpimämpää säätä, joten pysyvää lumipeitettä ei taideta tänne ainakaan vielä saada, mutta on ulkona nyt edes hetken kaunista ja jouluista.

Le previsioni del tempo non hanno sbagliato e per la gioia delle bambine ha cominciato a nevicare. Nei prossimi giorni le temperature sono comunque in salita quindi la neve non durerà molto a lungo ma almeno ora è tutto bello e natalizio fuori.

The weather forecasts were right and to the delight of the children it started to snow this morning. The temperature will rise during the next days so the snow won't last for very long, though, but now the view outside is really pretty and Christmassy.

Joulun odotusta

Joulun odotusta siivittää meillä tänä vuonna muun muassa tällainen ihanan nostalginen joulukalenteri. Huomenna vietetäänkin jo ensimmäistä adventtia ja me suuntaamme Bremenin joulumarkkinoille. Toivottavasti saan siellä otettua muutaman julkaisukelpoisen kuvan päiväsaikaan.

Quest'anno aspettiamo natale tra l'altro aprendo le finestrelle di questo calendario dell'avvento nostalgico. Domani è già la prima domenica dell'avvento e abbiamo l'intenzione di andare a visitare il mercato natalizio di Brema. Spero di riuscire a fare qualche foto mentre c'è ancora luce fuori.

This year we're opening the doors of this nostalgic advent calendar while waiting for Christmas. Tomorrow is the fist Sunday of Advent and we're going to the traditional Christmas Market here in Bremen. I hope I'll manage to take some pictures when there's still light outside.

Aarteita

Muuttolaatikkojen purkaminen on melkoista aarteenetsintää, sillä millään ei tahdo löytää sitä mitä hakee vaan laatikoista putkahtaa ihan kaikkea muuta. Keittiön matto oli kadoksissa pitkään, mutta nyt se yllättäen löytyi laatikosta, jossa luki päällä "eteinen", ja sopikin vielä paikalleen kuin nakutettu. (Ja kyllä, se kaipaa oikeasti vähän imurointia, mutta kun imuri on kerrosta alempana niin homma saa odottaa siivouspäivää.) Nyt kun vielä löytäisin yhden ison lampunvarjostimen, joka tuntuu kadonneen jäljettömiin. Eräs tämän talon ihanimmista puolista on muuten syvät marmoriset ikkunalaudat. Niille on kiva koota erilaisia tavaroita sommitelmiksi.

Svuotare le scatole è una vera e propria caccia al tesoro. Non trovo mai quello che sto cercando ma invece trovo tutto ciò che non mi serve. Per tanto tempo non riuscivo a trovare il tappeto della cucina ma ora è saltato fuori da una scatola su cui c'era scritto "ingresso", e pure la misura è proprio giusta. (È vero, dovrei passare l'aspirapolvere ma sta al piano di sotto quindi aspetterò la giornata delle pulizie.) Ora vorrei ancora trovare un paralume grande che sembra proprio scomparso. Cambiando discorso, una cosa che mi piace tanto in questa casa sono i davanzali profondi di marmo. È simpatico crearci composizioni varie.

Emptying the boxes is a real treasure hunt. I never seem to find what I'm looking for but just things that I don't need at the moment. I had been looking for the kitchen rug for a long time and now I found it in a box with "entry hall" written on it. (And yes, I should use the vacuum cleaner but it's downstairs so I'll wait for the cleaning day.) Now I'd like to find a big lamp shade that seems to be disappeared. By the way, I love the marble window sills of this house. They are perfect for making different compositions.
