Työhuoneessa tapahtuu

(FI) Tänään join lauantain perinteisen kahvikupillisen kakkosolohuoneenakin toimivassa alakerran työhuoneessa, jonka sisustuksessa tapahtui viikolla pari muutosta. Ensinnäkin Ikeasta tilaamani iso juuttimatto saapui vihdoin ja entinen raitamatto siirtyi vierashuoneeseen. Eilen kiertelin kuopuksen kanssa kaupungilla ja käytettyjä huonekaluja myyvässä liikkeessä teimme melkoisen heräteostoksen, kun mukaan lähti kolmella kympillä vähän kovia kokenut antiikkinen taulu. Tai ei taulu itse asiassa lähtenyt heti mukaan, vaan kävimme hakemassa sen myöhemmin autolla, sillä taulun kanssa olisi ollut vähän hankalaa seikkailla ratikassa. Puhdistin taulun pinnan illalla varovasti ja värit kirkastuisivat varmaan vielä huomattavasti ammattilaisen käsittelyssä. Taulussa on signeerauskin, mutta siitä ei valitettavasti saa selvää. Tykkäättekö te tällaisesta vanhasta taiteesta, jota näkee itse asiassa nykyään aika paljon sisustuskuvissa? Ennen muutoksia työhuoneessa näytti tältä.

(IT) Oggi ho bevuto il tradizionale caffè del sabato nello studio del piano di sotto che funziona anche come secondo soggiorno. L'arredamento della stanza è cambiato di nuovo un po' negli ultimi giorno. Innanzitutto il grande tappeto di iuta che avevo ordinato da Ikea è finalmente arrivato e il vecchio tappeto a strisce è stato spostato nella stanza per gli ospiti. Ieri sono stata in centro con mia figlia più piccola e nel negozio che vende mobili usati abbiamo comprato un quadro antico un po' sofferto a trenta euro. In realtà non l'abbiamo portato subito a casa ma siamo tornati a prenderlo più tardi con la macchina perché portarlo nel tram non sarebbe stato molto pratico. Ho pulito la superficie del quadro ieri sera con gentilezza e credo che i colori sarebbero ancora molto più vivaci dopo un restauro fatto da professionista. Nel quadro c'è anche la firma del pittore ma purtroppo non si riesce a leggere. Vi piacciono questo tipo di quadri vecchi che si vedono ormai abbastanza spesso nelle foto di arredamento? (EN) Today I had my traditional Saturday cup of coffee in the downstairs home office that functions also as a second living room. I have done a couple of changes in the room during this week. First of all a big jute rug I ordered from Ikea finally arrived and the old rug moved to the guest room. Yesterday I spent time in the center with my younger daughter and in a shop that sells old furniture we did an impulse purchase and bought an antique painting for thirty euros. We didn't actually bring it home immediately but went to fetch it later by car because it would have been a bit difficult to take it in the tram. I cleaned the surface gently in the evening and the colours would probably be still a lot brighter after a professional restoration. The painting is also signed but unfortunately it's impossible to figure the name out. Do you like this kind of old art pieces that you see actually quite a lot in the interior pictures these days? Toscanan keväässä

(FI) Olipa ihana reissu Toscanaan, vain ihan liian lyhyt! Majoituimme ystäviemme ensimmäisissä kuvissa näkyvään agriturismoon eli maalaishotelliin nimeltä il Grande prato, mistä teimme kokopäivän reissut Pisaan ja Sienaan ja loppuajan pyörimme lähiseudulla. Vuokrasimme auton jo heti lentokentältä, jotta saatoimme liikkua vapaasti, ja aikaa säästyi huomattavasti junamatkoihin verrattuna. Toiseksi viimeisenä lomapäivänä satoi melkein koko ajan, mutta olimme ottaneet sen sääennusteiden ansiosta huomioon ja isommat reissut oli siinä vaiheessa tehty. Muuten kevät oli Toscanassa jo pitkällä ja auringossa tarkeni melko kevyillä vaatteilla, kuten Pisan tornista ottamassani kuvassa vilahtavista turisteista huomaa. Pisa on meille hyvinkin tuttu paikka, sillä mieheni on suorittanut siellä opintonsa kokonaan ja minä taas olen asunut kaupungissa ensin vuoden Erasmus-vaihdon vuoksi ja myöhemmin vielä puolen vuoden pätkän, jolloin tapasin tulevan mieheni. Tytärten kanssa emme jostain syystä olleet kaupungissa vielä käyneet, joten nyt teimme nostalgiareissun ja esittelimme kaupunkia heillekin. Kuvia ei tullut Pisassa otettua kovinkaan paljon, sillä järkkäri unohtui majapaikkaan, mutta Sienassa kuvia kertyi sen verran, että teen niistä oman postauksensa.

(IT) Abbiamo fatto un viaggio bellissimo in Toscana, è solo durato troppo poco. Abbiamo soggiornato nell'agriturismo dei nostri amici, il Grande prato e fatto due gite a Pisa e Siena e il resto del tempo girato solo nei posti vicini. Il penultimo giorno della vacanza è piovuto praticamente tutto il tempo ma lo sapevamo dalle previsioni e le gite erano già fatte. Per il resto la primavera era già avanzata in Toscana e al sole si stava bene anche vestiti piuttosto leggeri come potete notare dai turisti che si vedono nelle foto fatte a Pisa. Pisa la conosciamo piuttosto bene perché mio marito ha studiato lì e io ci ho passato prima un anno come studentessa Erasmus e più avanti ancora sei mesi nei quali ho conosciuto il mio futuro marito. Per qualche motivo non avevamo ancora visitato la città con le figlie quindi ora abbiamo fatto un viaggio nostalgico e mostrato la città anche a loro. Non ho fatto tante foto a Pisa perché abbiamo dimenticato la macchina fotografica reflex al Grande prato ma le foto di Siena sono tante e le dedico un altro post intero.

(EN) We had a great holiday in Tuscany, only too short. We stayed in our friends' country hotel or agriturismo called il Grande prato that you can see in the first pictures and did two whole day trips to Pisa and Siena. The rest of the time we stayed in the nearby area. We had rented a car already at the airport so we could go easily where wanted and saved lots of time compared to travelling by train. The second last day of our holiday it was raining almost the whole day but we had seen it in the weather forecasts and the longer day trips were already done at that point. For the rest we had really beautiful spring days and in the sun it was quite warm as you can see from the tourists' clothing in the pictures taken in Pisa. We know Pisa really well because my husband has studied there and I have lived there first for one year as an Erasmus exchange student and the later for six months and in that period I got to know my future husband. For some reason we hadn't visited the town with our girls, though, so now we did a nostalgic trip and showed them around. I didn't take too many pictures in Pisa because we forgot the SLR camera at Grande prato but in Siena I took so many I will show them in another post.

(FI) Arvoin DesignKomitea-arvonnan voittajat perinteisten paperilippujen avulla tytärten toimiessa onnettarina. Julisteen voitti Päivi, joka kommentoi seuraavasti: "Näissä julisteissa on sympaattista huumoria. Tiikerin ilme on mielenkiintoinen, mutta ehkä tuo pupu puhuttelee eniten. Antaisin sen tulevalle lapsenlapselleni." Korttipaketti meni Suville, joka jätti seuraavanlaisen kommentin: "Onpa hienoja, vaikea valita vain yhtä. Ehkäpä ottaisin tumman sirkusjulisteen." Yläkuvassa on maailman helpoin pääsiäiskoriste eli nippu pitkiä koristeellisia sulkia pienessä Aalto-maljakossa. Alakuvassa taas näkyy kranssi, joka tein oliivipuusta leikkaamistani oksista. Eihän niitä nyt raaskinut heittää poiskaan. Kranssi on vähän turhan rentorakenteinen, joten se sai jäädä pöydälle seinälle ripustamisen sijaan. Nyt sen sijaan lähden pakkaamaan laukkuja, sillä suuntaamme huomenna muutamaksi päiväksi Toscanaan. Kuulumisia voi seurata lähipäivinä Instagramin kautta. Hyvää pääsiäisviikon jatkoa!

Nella prima foto c'è la decorazione più semplice del mondo, cioè un mazzo di piume belle messe in un vaso Aalto di Iittala. Nella seconda foto invece si vede la ghirlanda che ho fatto quando ho potato il nostro ulivo. Non potevo mica buttare i rami nella spazzatura. La struttura della ghirlanda non è molto rigida quindi può stare sul tavolo e non l'appendo al muro. Ora invece vado a fare le valigie perché domani mattina partiamo per la Toscana. (EN) DesignKomitea giveaway winners were raffled using small lottery tickets and the lucky winners are Päivi and Suvi. Congratulations! In the first picture there's a really simple Easter decoration. I just put a bunch of beautiful feathers in an Aalto vase by Iittala. In the second picture you can see an olive garland I made when I pruned our olive tree. I just couldn't throw the beautiful branches to the garbage. The garland isn't very robust so it will stay on the table instead of being hung on the wall.
