Kymmenvuotiaan huoneessa

(FI) Meidän kuopus täytti kesällä kymmenen vuotta ja siirtyi nyt syksyllä ala-asteelta Gymnasiumiin eli paikalliseen ylioppilastutkintoon johtavaan kouluun. Tuon ikäinen on toisaalta vielä aika pieni mutta vähän jo isokin, joten huonekaan ei saa olla enää ihan pikkulapsen huone, vaikka tietyt lelut ja kaikenlaiset suloiset pienet aarteet ovatkin vielä tärkeitä. Neiti alkoi keväällä kaivata huoneeseensa kunnollista valaisinta entisten asukkaiden jättämän riisipaperipallon tilalle ja löysimmekin kesällä sopivan kokoisen, kivannäköisen ja edullisen Vitan Silvia Mini -valaisimen. Valaisin tuli laatikossa osina, mutta kokoaminen oli niin helppoa, että tytär kokosi valaisimen itse, kun äiti ei tehnyt hommaa riittävän nopeasti. No, muutama pala oli vähän väärällä paikalla, mutta nyt on jokainen muovinpala oikealla kohdalla ja valo suodattuu kauniisti. Seinällä on myös melko uusi seinäkello, joka tikittää todella kuuluvasti, mutta se ei onneksi kuulemma häiritse. Naulakoksi löysin eBaysta Kartellin 80-luvun naulakon, joka antaa huoneen nurkkaan mukavasti ryhtiä ja johon voi ripustaa kassin poikineen. Hyvin on kai huoneen sisustus onnistunut, sillä asukas itse totesi eilen huonetta siivottuaan: "Mun huoneeni on oikeastaan aika kiva, silloin kun se on siisti."

(IT) La nostra secondogenita ha compiuto dieci anni quest'estate e ora si è spostata dalla scuola elementare al Gymnasium che è una scuola che continua direttamente fino alla maturità. A dieci anni i bambini sono contemporaneamente abbastanza piccoli e già un po' grandi, quindi la stanza non dev'essere troppo infantile anche se alcuni giocattoli e vari piccoli oggetti carini sono ancora molto importanti. Mia figlia ha cominciato a dire in primavera che vorrebbe una lampada più bella nella sua stanza al posto della lampada di carta di riso lasciata dagli inquilini precedenti. Il problema è stato risolto quando abbiamo trovato la lampada Silvia Mini di Vita che ha le dimensioni giuste e anche un ottimo prezzo. La lampada è venduta in scatola e bisogna montarla a casa ma non è difficile, visto che mia figlia l'ha fatto da sola quando si è stufata di aspettare il mio aiuto. Ho dovuto spostare solo alcuni petali di plastica che erano messi nei posti sbagliati e ora la lampada da una bellissima luce nella stanza. Abbiamo appeso anche un orologio al muro e ho trovato un appendiabiti anni '80 di Kartell su eBay. L'appendiabiti da un bel impatto visivo nell'angolo della stanza e offre tanto posto per appendere borse e altre cose. Penso che la stanza sia ben riuscito perchè mia figlia ha commentato ieri dopo aver sistemato un po' la stanza: "Veramente la mia stanza non è per nulla male quando è tutta in ordine."

(EN) Our younger daughter had her 10th birthday this summer and she has now moved from the elementary school to Gymnasium that is a school leading directly to the matriculation. A 10-year-old is still quite small but also so big that the room shouldn't be too childish anymore, even though some toys and all kinds of cute little things are still really important. My daughter started asking last spring if she could have a nicer lamp in her room instead of the rise paper lamp left by the previous renters. The problem was solved when we found the Silvia Mini lamp by Vita that's the perfect size for the room and also really affordable. The lamp arrives in a box and it must be assembled at home but it's not too difficult a job since my daughter did it herself because she got tired of waiting for my help. Okay, there were some pieces that weren't exactly in the right position but now all the plastic petals are put the way they should be and the lamp gives a really nicely filtered light in the room. Also the wall clock is quite new and I found the Kartell 80's coat rack on eBay. I think it's a nice feature in the corner of the room and it also offers lots of space for hanging bags and clothes. I think the decor is quite a success because my daughter commented yesterday after tiding up: "My room is actually quite nice when it's not messy."

Keittiössä lauantaina

(FI) Pyyhin aamulla kahvia keittäessäni pölyt String-hyllyltä ja hain parvekkeelta minimaljakkoon yhden mansikankukan. Lämpimästä säästä innostunut mansikka on täynnä kukkia, mutta eipä niistä taida enää kypsiä mansikoita tulla. Täällä oli eilen  yleinen vapaapäivä (Saksan jälleenyhdistymispäivä), joten vietimme koko päivän pihalla puutarhaa siivoten ja illalla kävimme ansaitusti lempipizzeriassamme syömässä. Tänään täytyy jatkaa ainakin vitriinikaapin oven maalaamista, jotta saisin vähitellen tavarat taas paikoilleen ja olohuoneen ihmismäiseen kuntoon. Itse asiassa sohva ja muutama muukin kaluste taitaa vaihtaa paikkaa, kun maalausurakka on valmis, mutta kuvia lopputuloksesta saa vielä odottaa jonkin aikaa. Mukavaa viikonloppua!

(IT) Stamattina ho spolverato lo scaffale String mentre il caffè stava salendo e ho messo nel minivaso un fiore di fragola preso dal balcone. La pianta di fragola è piena di fiori a causa delle alte temperature ma non credo le fragole possano più maturare. Visto che ieri era festa (la festa per la riunificazione tedesca) abbiamo passato tutta la giornata lavorando in giardino e la sera siamo stati in pizzeria. Oggi devo continuare a verniciare lo sportello della vetrina per poter rimettere le cose a posto in soggiorno. Probabilmente sposteremo anche il divano e anche altre cose una volta la vetrina è pronta ma ci vorrà ancora un bel po' prima che posso farvi vedere il risultato finale. Buon fine settimana a tutti!

(EN) I dusted this morning the String shelf in the kitchen while waiting for the coffee and put in a small vase a strawberry flower from the balcony. The strawberry plant is full of flowers after various warm days but I don't think we'll bet any more strawberries anyway. Yesterday was a public holiday (The German Reunification Day) so we spent the whole day cleaning the garden and in the evening we went to our favourite pizzeria for dinner. Today I'll continue painting the glass door cabinet since I really want to get the living room in order again. Actually we'll probably move the couch and some other pieces of furniture after the cabinet is ready but it will take some time before I can show you pictures of the new order. Have a nice weekend!

Puutarhan lokakuu

(FI) Kävin takapihalla kuvaamassa, miltä puutarhassa näyttää lokakuun ensimmäisenä päivänä. Kasvien lehdissä näkyy jo syksyn merkkejä, mutta ruusut puskevat vielä ilmoille uusia nuppuja ja vaaleanpunainen hortensiakin jaksaa yhä kukkia. Lyhtykoisosta en ottanut kuvaa, sillä se on kovin surkean näköinen, kun ainoa lyhtyoksa on taittunut ja oranssit lyhdyt ovat puoliksi kuivuneita. Nyt kasvi on sentään hengissä, sillä ensimmäinen istuttamani lyhtykoiso kuoli talven aikana. Ehkä vihdoin ensi kesänä saan siitä jokusen oksan maljakkoonkin. Täällä on muuten aivan ihanat syysilmat, päivisin on jatkuvasti yli 20 astetta lämmintä!

(IT) Sono andata in giardino con la macchina fotografica per immortalarlo il primo giorno di ottobre. Ci sono già segni di autunno specialmente nelle foglie ma le rose fanno ancora nuovi boccioli e anche l'ortensia rosa fiorisce ancora. Non ho fatto foto dell'alkekengi perché l'unico ramo con lampioni arancioni si è piegato e i lampioni sono un po secchi. Almeno pianta è ancora viva, visto che quella precedente è morta durante l'inverno. Speriamo che l'autunno prossimo c'è già qualche rametto che posso mettere nel vaso. A proposito, il tempo continua ad essere bellissimo quest'autunno e ci sono sempre oltre 20 gradi di giorno!

(EN) I took some pictures of the garden on the 1st of October. Especially the leaves show already signs of autumn but the roses are still growing new buds and also the pink hydrangea is still in bloom. I didn't take any pictures of the Chinese lantern plant because the only branch with orange lanterns is bent and the lanterns are a bit dry. At least it's still alive because the first plant died during the winter. Maybe next year I will be able to cut some branches and put them in a vase. By the way, this autumn the weather is pretty fantastic here with over 20 degrees Celsius outside in the afternoon!
