Wout Wessemius

Ajelimme viikonloppuna Hollanin puolelle ja kävimme tutustumassa Groningenin yliopistokaupunkiin. Sää ei ollut ihan paras mahdollinen, mutta sadekuurot olivat toisaalta oiva tekosyy käydä mahdollisimman monessa sisustusliikkeessä ja kahvilassa. Valokuvaamiseen suhtauduttiin kaikkialla todella rennosti ja kuvia kertyi niin paljon, että matkakertomuksesta tulee moniosainen. Kierrätystaidetta ja -sisustusesineitä tekevän Wout Wessemiuksen myymälä oli täynnä hauskoja ideoita, joita voisi hyvin itsekin soveltaa. Mistäköhän löytyisi kuparilankaa lampunvarjostimeksi? Vai liimaisiko sellaisen kasaan pumpulista? Vanhasta auton sisäkumista taas saa hyvän peilinkehyksen. Lapset olivat kyllä sitä mieltä, ettei kivituoli ole kovin mukava istuin.

Durante il fine settimana siamo andati in macchina in Olanda per visitare la città universitaria di Groningen. Il tempo era un po' variabile ma la pioggia è stata un'ottima scusa per visitare tanti negozi di arredamento e caffetterie. Nessuno ha detto di no quando ho chiesto se potevo fotografare quindi le foto sono tante e il racconto di viaggio avrà varie puntate. Wout Wessemius fa arte e oggetti di arredamento da materiale riciclato e il suo negozio era pieno di idee che si potrebbere provare anche a casa. Per costruire un paralume serve solo tanto filo di rame o cotone e una vecchia camera d'aria da auto può diventare la cornice di uno specchio. Secondo le bambine la sedia di pietre non è comunque molto comoda.

During the weekend we drove to Holland and visited the university town of Groningen. The weather was quite variable but the showers were a good excuse for visiting lots of interior shops and cafes. I was allowed to take pictures everywhere so there really are many of them and I will publish them in several posts. Wout Wessemius makes art and different things for home using recycled materials. His shop was full of ideas that could also be tried at home. For a lampshade you only need copper wire or cotton and the inner tube of an old tire can be used as a mirror frame. The girls said that the stone chair wasn't very comfortable, though.

Äitienpäivän aamuna

Sain aamulla luvan nousta vasta yhdeksän jälkeen, kun tämä luomus oli valmis. Hyvää äitienpäivää!

I was allowed to wake up only after nine o'clock this morning when this treat was ready. Happy Mother's Day!

Olohuoneessa

Edessä on pitkä viikonloppu ja otin sen alkajaisiksi vähän kuvia olohuoneesta. Pinkki väri on väistynyt - kyllästyin siihen aika nopeasti, mikä ei ole toisaalta yllätys. Nyt huoneessa mennään jälleen neutraalimmalla linjalla. Orkideatkin oli pakko siirtää pois ikkunalta, joka alkoi olla niille ihan liian aurinkoinen. Maljakkokokoelma kirjahyllyn päällä kasvaa sitä vauhtia, että kohta on varmaan pakko alkaa myydä niitä eteenpäin. Kohta lähdetään vielä viimeisiin harrastuksiin ja sitten ryhdytään tekemään matkasuunnitelmia, sillä tarkoitus olisi piipahtaa Hollannin puolella.

Oggi comincia un fine settimana lungo e ma prima ho fatto un po' di foto del nostro soggiorno. Il colore rosa non c'è più, me ne sono stancata abbastanza in fretta il che non mi sorprende affatto. Ora i colori della stanza sono più neutri. Ho dovuto spostare le orchidee perché il davanzale è molto soleggiato e si seccavano troppo. La collezione dei vasi bianchi cresce sempre e tra poco dovrò cominciare a rivenderli. Tra poco porto le bambine agli ultimi hobby di questa settimana e poi cominciamo a progettare una gita in Olanda.

Here's some pictures of our living room before we start a four day long weekend. There's no more pink accents in the room. I got tired of them quite soon which is not surprising at all. Now the colour scheme is quite neutral again. I had to move the orchids to the other part of the house since the direct sunlight was too much for them. The white vase collection is growing so fast that I will have to start reselling them soon. Now we're going to the last hobbies with the girls and then start planning a trip to Holland.
