Taloja ja tähtiä

Nyt on piparit leivottu ja koristeltu, joulukuusi on juhla-asussaan, ja valkoinen amarylliskin päätti avata ensimmäisen kukkansa joulun lähestymisen kunniaksi. Suosikkikuusenkoristeitani ovat valkoiset tähdet, sekä keraamiset, jotka olen tilannut Taitaentehty-nettikaupasta, että lasten tekemät huovutetut. Huomenna on viimeinen koulupäivä ennen kahden viikon lomaa, ja lauantaina pääsemme katsomaan tyttöjen balettiesitystä. Niin hassusti tässä on kyllä käynyt, että kun olen yrittänyt saada kodin jonkinlaiseen joulukuntoon, ovat melkein kaikki joululahjat vielä hankkimatta.

Ora abbiamo fatto e decorato i biscotti, l'albero è pronto per la festa e anche l'amarillide ha deciso di aprire il primo fiore per l'occasione. Le mie decorazioni preferite sull'albero sono le stelle, sia quelle in ceramica ordinate dal negozio online House of Handmade che quelle di feltro fatte dalle bimbe. Domani c'è ancora l'ultimo giorno di scuola prima delle ferie e sabato andremo a vedere il saggio di danza delle bambine. Una cosa è ancora da fare, però. Ho concentrato le mie energie per sistemare la casa e i regali mancano ancora quasi tutti.

Now we have baked and decorated a batch of gingerbread, and also the Christmas tree is ready for the festivities. Even the white amaryllis decided to open its first flower for the occasion. My favourite decorations on the tree are the white stars, both the ceramic ones that I've ordered from the online shop House of Handmade and the felted ones that our girls have made.  Tomorrow is the last schoolday before the two weeks holiday and on Saturday we'll get to see the girls' ballet performance. On thing still needs to be done, though, and that's shopping. I have put all my energy into getting the house ready for Christmas and almost all the presents are still missing.
